Well of course, here comes my arch rival and dreaded nemesis, Cloyd Vanhook. He could not possibly resist the temptation to get in a couple jabs and a knife in my BAC, at a time like this.
So, I get tackled by Brad & Doug. That's ok. It's the ball game. But then, here he comes with a late hit, piling on and personal fouls. Where's the penalty flag? Where's the web-ref?
It's these constant little attacks against my poor little airplanes. Poor people have poor planes. Sorry. I'm a fat guy that lost 20 pounds, to fly with Marty. And he attacks me for it. I did not even ask if he has grown any hair on his head? I would not do something like that.
I think he should buy me a bottle of Oban 18 Year Old Scotch. And bring it to BACfest. What do you guys think?
I spoke to Coast Guard folks and the FBO at Elizabeth City today. Looks like they are ready for us. We are expected at the Base at 10:00 am next friday.
Pizza to follow at Kitty Hawk is set up also. Ready to roll!
I've been a ForeFlight diehard from day one - but - recently I've been coming around to Garmin's way of thinking... I like actually flying with the Garmin Pilot App better now... It has a substantially less cluttered background than flying against the sectional - of course the sectional is just a click a way if you want it... I've got both ForeFlight and Garmin loaded now - as I still like ForeFlight's intuitive interface to get the big weather picture before I launch... We'll see how it goes when it's time to renew... Competition seems fierce among the big three - which is good for us...
In the preparations to Virginia Beach I see a couple things.
Cloyd Van Hook is trying to avoid drinking the five year old warm beer I'm bringing him by attempting to "share" it. Beware.
I never bet against the New England Patriots so I will have no bet on the Saints game October 13th.
No, I won't be drinking anyone's bourbon due to current medication I am on. I will be taking IOU's for future use.
Scott (Edward?) Brunner's flight plan completely avoids New Jersey. Is it something to do with rules from his probation officer?
An authentic pizza aviation meal at First Flight is planned by Paul Werbin but I really think Orville and Wilbur ate Purina Pilot Chow!
Can't wait to see everyone. And I get to stay home and let you all visit! I think everything is set up but please bear with me as the inevitable glitches occur and resolve.
See you all very soon.
Paul.........sorry I can't get in earlier for all the activities you have planned, but I am stuck in a court case- but will be catching a flt out of Atlanta after court on friday and expect to be in Norfolk by 6pm and will head to the hotel for the remaining activities for fri night and sat. Look forward to seeing you again (it's been about 4 years since we overlapped in KLUX for our annuals). fred
I am very much looking forward to BACfest. I am a new owner of an A23-19 and have already flown over 30 hours since I purchased it 3 weeks ago. I am currently working in the VA Beach area so might fly-in to ORF, however the plane is currently 15 miles away at PVG.....
Paul - should we fly over to ORF on Wednesday for the Wings program?
I look forward to meeting everyone later this week.

NOTE: I am currently working in Norfolk, so please hit me up if anyone needs transporation or anything else.
I am looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones. Lots of members I have emailed with or spoken to over the years.
The wed event is at Landmark FBO so flying or driving works. Anyone flying in for any part of this week should let the desk person at Landmark know you are part of our group. Otherwise standard fees will apply.
