BACFest 2013 update

I know what is going on here!

90% of the people in this club do not know.

BACFest is the 'dirty little secret' in this club.

Youse guys are headed out to beautiful places, select resorts, neat side trip adventures, elegant dining with friends and parting all night, at a big discount!

Yeah, I missed out, once. But my Momma didn't raise no fool.

I found out about this. You slipped one by me. But no more, I'm gonna be there. I'm not gonna be cheated out of this. Your not gonna do this and party without me.

Bo and I busted a glass table top in the bar last year (note to self, do not dance on thin glass table tops). I'll try not to let that happen, again this year.

Next week at this time, I'll be headed to BACFest.

I'll be so happy, I 'MAY' even buy Cloyd a beer or a glass of whine.

Do we have an itinerary somewhere? Are all the events kid friendly (Bringing my 14 year old son)? I dont think my son or girlfriend are going to want to sit through a maintenance seminar or some other events Ive heard mentioned but would definately love to do the dolphin trip. There is plenty to do in Virginia Beach (Used to live there for 4 years when I was in the Navy) and want to make sure they are having fun too and not just us guys geeking out on airplanes.

Go to the home page and click BACFest 2013. Scroll down to the second red paragraph and you will find the tentative schedule. If you haven't been to a BACFest before, you can come to a little of it as you like or take it all in. This event is for us geeks who like these airplanes and who enjoy each other's company, so don't expect me to fly my plane 1,200 miles each way for us to have a program for those who don't.

We have no special events for children or group events set up for non airplane nuts. But we do have access to lots of activities for anyone. Anyone that is registered is welcome to all our events that we have planned. But the rest of Virginia Beach ia available too. Beaches and watersports are available on your own. There are aquariums and museums in town. As described above everyone can take part in whatever they want and can enjoy the rest of town. I would recommend having a car if someone wants to see the rest of town on their own.

I expected pretty much all the events to be airplane related I was trying to find out a schedule so they knew which ones they should come to and which ones they should do their own thing with. I dont expect any events for non-plane geeks I was surprised there were any at all to be honest.

Understand that. We expect some specifics to evolve based on issues like weather and coast guard needs etc. But in general the outline as posted should be close. We may start the Thursday Maintenance clinic in late morning rather than afternoon depending on final plans and staff availability. But Landmark Aviation wants to provide us with lunch and a large corporate hangar for the event.

Paul,

I know your busy and working very hard on BACfest, but....

In the interest of saving me a little cash this year, could you please ask the hotel put away delicate, breakable objects and furniture.

Bill, I have arranged for this body armour suit to be available for both your protection and the protection of the delicate, breakable objects! I'm sure you will wear it well.

Bill, given the high concentration of pilots in this area due to the military most local hotels have pretty much already lost anything breakable.

That's great news, Paul. I should have known that with my son, James near by, at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Brad & Doug, Yeah, you guys are funny! Hahaha!

Here I have worked hard to lose 20 pounds since last year. And you guys want me to wear that suit.

I had to lose the weight because Marty was complaining that my large assets were throwing off his CG by 1.098701 inches fwd, costing him 23.6578249 feet per minute in climb perf, 1.7865342 KTAS in level cruise (when I could hold level cruise, close enough for him to stop complaining about it, that is) and an additional fuel burn per BHP per hour of 0.00056789.

You guys know it is better to lose the weight than hear Marty crunch those numbers. And blame you for screwing him out of 1.7865342 KTAS! Yes, we are sharing a room again this year.

Love ya, Marty!

The hotel contact informed me, per Marty's request, the reservation shows percentage of occupancy:
Marty - .50678
Bill - .49322

Bill, make sure you only pay your appropriate percentage!

Brad, I think you have that backward. Bill will occupy a higher percentage than Marty. Even after losing his 20#.

Oh well, I still have that five year old six pack from Corcoran to look forward to.

That must be the last time the Patriots had a team Corcoran would bet on.

Cloyd,

I really think the beer is more than five years old.
You are expected to drink it in public.
My job will be to watch.
Corcoran
