I will be requesting that whoever flies near you call and stop in and get to to sign banner and journal
Also be doing the same at KLUX in memory/honor of Mike Rellihan !!
I am sure you can come up with some words of wisdom for the Journal Entry...
Fred

This is cool! Thank you all for participating and making it fun. I fly often from Michigan to Wisconsin, so it that is an option great (My son's family lives there and I get to play with the grandkids).

Hoping to meet up with Leonard Lim tomorrow to discuss him getting in the air to start the BAC Relay since he is expected to be the first pilot out from KFXE then the first handoff to Mike Harding in KORL then ...... until all 48 states completed!!
Will keep all advised on Official Start
Gettting Very Close to a Kickoff!!!

Hope to meet you for quick lunch tomorrow. Let me know which airport is better. 🤞🏻

KJCA - just give me a rough idea of time and I’ll be waiting for you all
I will be there early so I can visit with Airport mgr- good friend!
Safe flight-lunch on me !

Is the goal a relay across east-to-west ..... and .... also a 48 state route? Or just a relay ? I suggest just a relay this first time around.

Although ....... - - - a 48 state BAC lunch binge sounds good to me as well!

We are shooting for 48 states with at least one pilot from each state participating..
But, being realistic and viewing pilots signed in to date we will not have one from every state
And to just make another pilot cover 2,3 or even 4 states to cover all states seems like not the objective either
So, starting in Fl and working s/e states then into Texas we probably will adjust as we go to get as many states as possible and fly as many pilots as possible
This will mean some states have several pilots in one state and all can fly even if in circles and hand off to each other prior to handing off to another state
Will have to adjust as we go!!!
But I think we should go and do as many as possible for first Relay and hope other Relays will be done in the future years and that they will Best Us
Fred
This is why we need good phone numbers so pilots can check in with me as to where they are and that they have a number to contact the pilot they will be handing off to

As of this afternoon I met with Leonard Limand handed over to him The Banner and the Journal to be filled out and signed by every Pilot involved with the Relay!
He is expected to fly first leg from KFXE to KORL and turn over items to Mike Harding for his start of the second leg throughout Florida before flying to me in Georgia

The Relay is getting ready to get started!!! Whoopie .....

I think a recap of what we are trying to accomplish would be nice. As I see it, we are doing a 48 State relay, which is cool! But are we trying raise money for charity along the way, other than the folks flying the relay contributing? I'm fine with whatever we are trying to accomplish, just want an update on what it is. Looking forward to flying my part in Wisconsin! Roland handoff to me?

BTW, do you still want my Spot, and if so, where should I send it? I'll have to set up a BAC trip and post how to monitor the progress if so.

Great questions
Regarding money No One has stepped up to set something up to publish or promote the Relay- completely out of my wheelhouse!!
As posted above to answer questions by Nelson
We might not get all 48 states with a pilot from each state since to date there are numerous states without a Pilot response
Go to state the Relay by weekend of Nov 14th +/- and get it started and adjust as needed
Maybe as Nelson said this is the first Relay and maybe in future someone can improve upon

As for the Spot- completely forgot about
But you can send to me with instructions and if I can get to starter plane will do otherwise can get started using by 2nd state

Money question- someone needs to step up and decide on- should probably be someone in office/ RD , Board member or officer

Looks like at this moment we have 24 States with NO PILOT signed in for that is Based in those States !!
See States with No Pilot Below :

I know some states are close and severs pilots have expressed interest in flying through some of those states, but several are great distances from closest pilot
So, as expressed by Nelson ( who I will talk to in next day or so) maybe for our First Attempt we cover smaller territory???
Any thoughts on the Matter ?
Please respond- getting ready to start !
Thanks Again for all those signed in I expect that all will have an opportunity to participate and fly...
Fred

I know we have pilots out there somewhere- would think they might like a reason to get in the air !

We will do our best with what we have...

Fred

Jeff-

I just landed in Springfield, Missouri (KSGF) this afternoon from Pottstown, PA 6 hours and 8 minutes total flying time... I am not based here but come here several times a year... (I used to be based here...)
