Safe journeys home to all.  And of course, I close with Trumpet on our anthem. https://youtu.be/tTNcuLfTf8g.

@trumpet-nelson Very nice closing and thanks for Remembering and Honoring our Country.... A Very nice tribute.

Thanks to all for sharing, all the images are great and appreciated, If all goes well, I hope to be able to make it next year!

Kathryn and I had a safe flight back to Iowa today.  Hopefully everyone else’s trip home was the same way.

A baby Beech is a great way to travel.  We lined up at KPSP on 31R at 6:35 AM PDT this morning and were pushing N9357S in her hangar at 8:05PM CDT at I75 in Iowa.  Wouldn’t have beat that time going commercial.  Went the whole way at 9500’, TAS 133 KTS.  Winds didn’t help us much but didn’t hurt us either.  Great scenery across the SW.

Ready for next year at OSH!

Arrived home safely after about 7 hrs in the air.  Like D & K, 9500 ft and smooth air over the desert - - unusual.

About 0.3 hours of that air time was due to me needing to hand crank the gear down at my home airport and hoping for the best when I very very softly touched down.  End result was a "thumbs up" for the plane ... and me losing about a pound in sweat.  Yep, another story to share.  But regardless ... at home at hangar one hour before sunset (another challenge for those of us going east).

It was great to see you all,

trumpet nelson (...  & bike .... & lots-o other stuff)

Glad you and the plane made it back safe.... Glad you were able to get that gear down... I hope the final fix is an easy one.... At least it was not one that left you AOG at a remote airport!

Here is our story of the flight back home:

Our plan to fly over San Diego and the Pacific coast north back to Torrance was impeded by the solid marine layer until noon. So we decided to go IFR DCT which worked perfectly with a VMC departure inbound Banning to avoid the climbing procedure to the southeast before being cleared on course. After reaching the MEA we got our pickup again and flew in 8000' direct ILS 29R in KTOA. We found it was a good decision because we still had to go through IMC on the ILS. Our Cessna is back safely after logging 20h during the last week with tons of amazing impressions. It was a lot of fun with all of you, thank you all and especially all the helping hands making this BACFEST possible!

Our last leg will be LH457 back to Frankfurt this afternoon. We let the professionals do it, so no worries...

Peter, I am impressed, come to a different country, fly an instrument approach in IMC, and in a different airframe than your own.  Hopefully the commercial flight went well and you are home safe.

Nelson, glad you were able to get the gear down and land safely.  Hopefully it will be an easy fix so you can get to the Beech Party.

Back home safe and sound.  Stayed overnight on Sunday in Worland, WY.  Was just too whupped to continue, but it gave me time to plan my entry back into country.  Early departure on Monday and flew 4.2hrs direct to Saskatoon to clear customs.  9500 - 11000 depending on weather and concrete clouds, but mostly a smooth flight.  Final leg was a leisurely 1.8hrs to Cold Lake from Saskatchewan.  C-GOEN performed great for the entire trip and we logged a total of 21.6hrs for the week.  Going to do an oil change this week and then it's off to Beech Party right after the Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday.  See you all there.

My understanding is that the Covid restrictions at the Canadian border have been completely removed.  Now, let's have a BACFest in Canada!
