BACFest 2025

Glad you and your daughter are OK! Mine had a nose failure a number of years ago. Nose gear came down, but when brakes were applied on roll out, it folded straight back. Same result, no significant damage because the cowl and other things never touched the ground. Hope to see you in the air again soon.

So sorry to see that picture, but am very glad neither of you were hurt. Will miss you at BACFest, unless you decide to drive, but longer and not as much fun as flying.

Unfortunately not attending and cancelled my reservation. Plane did not pass my pre-flight inspection this morning and will be down for a while as I search for parts. Shucks.

Weather didn't pass muster this morning. Cleared out in CL now, but lots of activity filling in from the west. Figure it will be more of the same in the morning....
Looked at leaving Sunday, but no go. Woke up to fog this morning and the lee side weather has been continuous throughout the day. Can't get around on the northern Canadian route either, not that I want that much distance between airports anyway when I'm dodging weather. Finally broke down and booked commercial for tomorrow. I'll be arriving at States College (SCE) on UA 4319 at 09:37 on Wednesday morning if anybody can give me a ride from the airport. Thanks in advance. See you Wednesday!

That is dissapointing Jeff. It looks like I will have good weather going to Lock Haven, not so sure about the return trip. I will be arriving later in the day on Wednesday, see you there.
Nelson, it is better to find problems on the ground rather than in the air. Sorry you can’t make it, we’ll miss your presence.

I just talked with Jeff. I'll pick him up at the airport as we need to do some things and it is on my way and at the right time.

Arrived at the hotel last night about 2030. Off to Altoona this morning to check out the horseshoe curve and the train museum.

I wish everyone safe travels arriving here. Sorry to hear about the misfortune of a few with airplane issues. Main thing is that you all are safe and my hope is it you’ll be airborne soon with minimum hassle! Will be thinking about you all.

Planning to depart tomorrow to my first BACfest. Weather looking good from Louisiana. Ready to meet some of those people who chime in to help when I have posted on the forum over the years.

The outlook briefing looks good for Catie and myself to make the journey from 44N tomorrow afternoon. We are both looking forward to our first BACfest!

Forgive me if I have overlooked a post somewhere, but are there any arrangements for getting from the airport to the hotel?
