BACFest 2022 - Palm Springs California

Michael,

Quick question... for those of us who won't have an aircraft, but will have a rental car, how long would it take to drive to the Saturday morning fly in breakfast at Borrego Springs?

Peter

Peter, Google says 82.3 miles, 1 hour 23 minutes.  It is around a mountain which makes it so long.  When you register there's a spot to indicate you're looking for a ride in one of the planes.  Look forward to seeing you then.

Michael,

Thank you for your endeavours.  We are starting to get excited!  We have successfully reserved a room using the link provided.

However registering has proved to be more of a challenge (as it was at silly o’clock your time this morning when the server stopped responding!).

Server is now responding but Business information is stuck in 2019 - even entering a couple of dates in there to allow registration to continue didn’t help because then when trying to make payment, PayPal was not coming up to service any sort of financial transaction.  Strike 3 now for entering data to no avail.  Thank goodness our aeroplanes aren’t computer controlled.

After all your hard work (thus far) I’m sorry to have to highlight more to do/resolve.

The Redcoats

Server still being temperamental……

I have reserved a room for 9/28 to 10/2.  You might post a listing of the event schedule on the #1 post so someone does not have to watch the video to refresh their memory as to the event schedule.  Also, tried to register for the event and it failed at the date entry.  Would not let me pick a date other than 2019.  Should probably include that there is a Resort Fee.  All most all hotels of any significance in Palm Springs have a resort fee.  This one is not as steep as many.

Marty, I will miss seeing you at BACFest and I am sorry about that.  I suppose Paris is a fair excuse, but just barely.

The link worked for hotel registration but I actually talked to their direct number to book.  Btw, these King Rooms include a Queen pull-out sofa.

Bob

Registration and hotel links should be fixed and working now.  Sorry for that issue.  To Dan's request for the schedule printed, here it is:

See you all in September!

No problems here getting registered for BACFest 2022 .....  and also my hotel room (Wed arrival, Sun departure).  Total bill is way more than my first car.  Of course.

CAN WE GET SERIOUS NOW ?  ......

A very BIG thank you to Michael.  In today's very volatile environment, he has produced a locked-in room rate (with some perks) that reaches almost 4 months into the future.  At a top class resort, no less.  Just think about what your grocery bill / gasoline bill will most likely be in Sept/Oct, and then please be very appreciative of what we have available.  Sweet.

I might pack my clubs in the plane if anyone else feels the need to chase that little dimple-headed ball around.  Hoping for a foursome.

See you soon,

Jane and I are now registered at the hotel, so I begin my planning for the cross country trip via Sundowner.  I hope I can work it out cause I figure this will be the best time in my life so far to fly totally across the country.  It's gonna cost a fortune, but we only go around once.....and I'm not getting any younger....  :)

Leili and I are also booked in the hotel, but we are going commercial. Palm Springs is over 15 hours flying time from Toronto in the Sierra, neither of us can take enough time off and, on the whole, I think I would rather sit in the big sky bus and sip scotch.

Peter

Denis and Kathryn are registered.  Arriving by Sierra.  Planning on a north route with a bucket list stop at Furnace Creek arriving Thursday AM for a no winds flight time of 11:20.  Michael has done a great job on the arrangements, thanks for all your hard work.

Peter and Leili are registered.

We are arriving early (Tuesday afternoon) via a commercial flight to Los Angeles and then a rental car. A 3600nm round trip, without ADS-B and with two border crossings, was getting a bit too much for our limited time, even in a Sierra.

The hotel won't hold our block of rooms exclusive to us after 8/25.  They will be available in their regular pool of rooms and they may rent them.  If they are available/not rented after 8/25 we can still get them, but if they are rented out, we'll have a shortage of rooms.

So if you're planning or even considering coming to BAC Fest this year (and we hope to see you), get a room now.

Booked room for the wife and I at the resort. we travel so much I just used the Free nights on my hotels account. I am excited to see yall there! Coming from KUAO aurora Oregon.

Northwest and Southwest members. Here is a great opportunity for you to attend a BACFest without having to fly or drive half way across the country. Mike Dunlevie has done an excellent job of organizing an informative, fun packed event.  He even has the president of AOPA coming as the guest speaker at our awards banquet!  We would love for you to attend so we can meet all of our members from the west coast regions.

Just click on the registration link at the top of the webpage and “Bam”, your half way there. Fill out the registration form, pay the registration fee, book your hotel at the link provided and there you are, the paperwork is done. This will be the most fun $100 event you will attend this year!  Now pack your bags, load the plane and you’re on your way to Palm Springs; where you will meet and spend a couple days with a whole bunch of other Beech Aero Club members from all around the world (literally).

To all Beech Aero Club members. Come and join us and let’s have some fun!

Thanks for registering, it really helps with the planning.  I know of three who have yet to register due to their logistics and we hope that gets solved and we get to see you.
