BAC Fest 2007

Well, got a new job BUT have to teach Wednesday night so I'm coming now on Thursday morning (have to change the room reservations). Darn I hate to miss the Wed night activity whatever it is. But class gets out at 10:20 and it will be past midnite when I take off, then the 1.5 hr flight and then to get transportation to the hotel.
Dr Bill, N9230S..

RELLIHAN- Great news on the job, Bill. See you at BAC Fest, if not sooner!

Plans beginning to come together

Well, I am starting the plans for October, I will go from Central Texas, stop by Pensacola....always wanted to see the WarShip museum there, down to Key West for a couple of days (Need to get some diving in), back up to Georgia (visiting old friends) and then on to BAC Fest. I might actually be able to keep up with some of the guys from the West coast with this flight plan. Now for just a few more things to firm up on the personal / professional side and a huge prayer to the weather / hurricane gods.

If anyone else from this neck of the woods is interested in a similar path, let me know. I plan on leaving here either the Friday or Saturday prior to BAC Fest. I considered the Beech Museum idea, but it is just too far north for the diversion.

Go Rebels!!!!

RELLIHAN- There may be more at Pensacola now, since my last visit there. But you may want to stop at Mobile for the battleship tour, then stop at Pensacola for the Naval Aviation Museum. They do have an incredible collection, starting with the F14 Gate Guardian.

We'll definitely be there (wx/mx gods permitting). Will satrt making reservations next week. Current plan is arrive Wed Aft, depart Sun AM. The flyout to FFA ia also a definite maybe.

Bo & Sandra

We have shaken out our plans. We'll be coming via Nashville arriving on Wednesday in time for checkin. As a sidebar we'll be Minnesota to Nashville Sat or Sun and there though Wednesday if anybody wants an enroute get together.

Leaving Saturday, via FFA if it doesn't look like the extra time will hose us weather wise. Going up to FFA might file via G13 - the last "colored" Airway in the lower 48.

Return w/probably have a layover Saturday night somewhere Kentucky/Ohio-Illinois depending on whether we're coming from CRE or FFA.

I have a friend that runs a Pizza Joint about one mile from FFA. I might be able to arrange a lunch delivery (not usual from this place) when we figure out how many folks want to try that, if any. The museum on site is worth an hour or two. There are lots and lots of restaraunts within a few miles. all require walking or a cab. There are great restroom and flight planning facilities there courtesy of AOPA and the 100 th anniversary celebration.

RELLIHAN- Sounds good to me! We are up to 25 names on the list of announced participants. As attendees actually register, I can add color or bolding to the names, unless Tim's online registration system accomplishes the same thing on a different page.

Add Gene & Becky McPherson to the list of BAC Fest 2007 Registrants. We will arrive Wednesday afternoon and depart sunday morning. Look forward to a great group again this year.

It could, but I don't want to make an attendee list public based on member's privacy concerns. If people want to announce themselves they are coming, that is fine, but I'm not going to make the official list public.

What happens in Myrtle Beach....Stays in Myrtle Beach.

PS Is Mike going to try to get the town renamed Myrtle Beech during our stay?????

North Myrtle BEECH

Hey,

I'm talking to the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce about getting some handouts on local businesses and attractions, I'll see if they will consider "North Myrtle Beech" as a temporary accommodation.

I don't want to adversely impact the BAC Fest 2008 attendance but just to give folks a heads up, BAC Fest 2008 is going to be way out west. The exact location is still a secret but if you're thinking, "heck, I'll pass on Myrtle Beach and go next year!" You might want to consider the logistics especially if you live back east and wanted to fly your Beech to the event.

So, what I'm saying is, take advantage of BAC Fest this year if you live back east because it's a long way to fly for next year's event. And while we'd really like to see everyone at both (all) events, if you live in the eastern USA or Canada get to BAC Fest '07 while it's coming to your neck of the woods! Who knows, you might make both events but definitely plan to make BAC Fest 2007!

I don't want to hear any complaints

There he goes, selling out 2008 to raise the attendence at 2007. I don't want to hear any excuses...I'm flying the equivalent of two Mice to BAC 2007 and looking forward to it. All y'all go to BAC 2007 where you will meet me and coming to BAC 2008 will be unavoidable.

Dan,

Wait just a minute while I wipe your tears off my computer screen and keyboard. I even got my eyes a little moist thinking about you having to fly that twin engined "ROYAL BARGE" of your's anywhere. Not! You are probably disappointed to hear the next BAC Fest will not be a good strech of the legs for that continent crosser of yours. FL 190, 160 KTS & 843 NM with VFR reserves just awful. Just kidding congratulations on being part of the proud croud and glad you and your Royal Barge are going to be there. I still do not know if I will make it. I have a lot of vacation time to burn and that is my favorite time to do it. But after eight years in this very comfortable tech rep chair, I may soon accept a position with another company, which would knock me out of BAC Fest 2007.

:D Hey, I'm not selling out (not yet anyway!). The western BAC Fest will be the best yet but I just wanted the members to have an idea of what's in store. I'm planning to fly the Sierra to Myrtle Beach so I think eastern members should reciprocate and fly out west to see us! We're relatively nice people!

The dirt piles are a little bigger out here but we're nice folks!

See ya in Myrtle Beach!

Transcontinental Mice!

Hey, guys,

I have the solution for both BAC Fest 2007 AND 2008. A lot of us are really leery about trying to climb those sand piles Chris was talking about; but...

We pick a place on the Divide, and we build this long trestle with THREE tracks and hooks on the middle one. Then we snag Musketeers and drag them up and over the top, then launch them on their way.

Waddaya think? FISH LADDERS FOR AIRPLANES!

(Oh, sorry, gotta go now. The attendants say it's time for therapy. Bye)

Mark, I just read on Avweb that two pilots from India's Air Force just flew around the world in an LSA. Maybe they can help you with your flight plan.

"Mark Weiss is planning the trip. My flight plan starts in Melbourne AUSTRALIA. Details will follow"

Dan you might get knocked out of the first place for PT points...

PT Points

I don't think so. Airline travel does not count according to the rules and Mark is not flying his Beechcraft to America. He is however, planning on flying with me across the country to and from the event. I'm looking forward to it, but told him he could not have the PT Points.
