Across the USA-flight relay

Sounds great
Will keep all posted as we get revised start date figured out
Thanks Again to Everyone
Hopefully when JP sends an email out regarding relay to ALL MEMBERS we should get more involvement
According to JP only a total of about 70+ members have looked at the Relay Forum— surprising but he has the numbers !

I will try to have some info out tonight . A lot of behind the scenes items going on with the club now. Very good and exciting !!!!! I am working all day (my day job) today but plan to report.

I may be at KABI if all goes as planned. So flying out of West Texas possibly into NM, or Oklahoma route if we do have a hole there may not be a problem. Do we have any pilots in NM?
Can someone with the DATA plot this stuff on a CONUS map?

Max,

My original plan was to meet up with the Arizona pilot in NM .... somewhere .... to move the packet west, since I am the most west location in Texas. Having you in NM would be a plus. Keep us updated!

Eventually I hope to contact all of the South Central region participants with a suggested route. Thanks for your post.

Hi, when the time comes , from a my home base KRYN, I can get out to Deming, Las Cruses, or even out to Pecos or Wink in Texas.

Just an update-Had a couple of calls asking what’s going on!!
The start was delayed do to a request by JP to hold off until we get an IPad to travel with the Banner and Journal so that each pilot will be tracked and each pilot can take any photos and post any thing along the way to an account that JP will be installing on the IPad
He is also going to install an Aviation App to follow progress etc

So, please be patient we hope to get first plane in the air in just a few weeks...

Also, JP will auction off/raffle the IPad at the end !!

Thanks Again for all the pilots supporting this Relay

BAC member Oscar Goldman has arrived at BAC headquarters to prepare for the relay. Please stay tuned .

So the flight relay will consist of a flight Logbook, Banner, BAC Witness representative (Oscar Goldman)screen name Bacman and a brand new 5th Generation IPAD Mini with aviation software.

The 7.9-inch iPad mini is more capable than ever. It features the A12 Bionic (thank Oscar) chip with Neural Engine, which uses real-time machine learning to transform the way you experience photos, gaming, augmented reality (AR), and more. A beautiful Retina display with True Tone for easier viewing in all kinds of lighting environments. Support for Apple Pencil.Wi-Fi, and Gigabit-class LTE. An 8 MP back camera and 7 MP FaceTime HD camera. As well as all-day battery life, Touch ID and Apple Pay, and over a million iPad apps on the App Store—in an iPad that fits in one hand.

The Mini iPad will arrive in the next day or so. I need some references for flight software and we are loaded and ready to start the relay. The mini will be on a data plan for US/Canada and wifi for the rest of the world . It will be insured and capable of tracking, making videos and pictures into the BAC storage cloud. It will be entered in a drawing at the end of the relay. No cost to be entered in the drawing but it will only be open to participating active BAC members of the relay. Every Member is encouraged to participate !!!

Sorry for the Delay in new information
JP called yesterday and is about done getting ready everything he needed to do to go with the pilots during the Relay
He expects to finish shortly and make an announcement/ possible group phone call to all pilots signed in
Also he is thinking of possibly a different starting point to coincide with a January 1 event he has scheduled
So please hang in there This will happen but with possibly some minor changes to the start
Thanks Again to all that are going to be involved
Fred

I got a question....

We are now required to take a pax with us?

At least that's how I read the last message.
