If anyone in the Alabama/Georgia area wants to go but doesn't have a way I will have an empty seat in the C24. I am based in Columbus (CSG).

Yeah Jon, you are a little too far to pick up. Got the XM radio working nicely so it will make the trip much better.

Based on hotel reservation information from the Marriott, registrations on the BAC website and what people have posted here as of today it looks like 34 people and 21 planes are expected at BAC Fest so far.

Pretty good for our first national fly-in. Hope some more BACers decide to join us.

I plan on attending BAC Fest Thursday through Saturday (8/17 - 8/20). I'll be flying my Sundowner from Waukesha, Wisconsin (UES), and don't have a definite right-seater yet. If anyone is interested in the Waukesha/Milwaukee area or near my route, let me know. First come, first served. I haven't reserved a hotel room yet, but hopefully that won't be a problem.

I'm very interested in the Power Flow Systems mods, so will definitely be staying for the demo (and hopefully get a demo ride!).

I'm also quite interested in the Brittian autopilot, just the wing leveler for now. I think someone said they are located near Wichita. Any chance there is enough interest and enough lead time that they might be interested in showing their wares at a vendor booth?

I have sent an e-mail to Brittain to see if they would be interested in being a vendor. They are located in Tulsa which is just about an hour (as the Mouse Flies) south of Wichita. I hope to hear from them Wednesday.

Is anyone planning on coming through Arkansas on their way to BAC fest? I don't know what my plans are yet, but BAC fest is right around the time my wife and kids are supposed to be starting back to school.

- or -

Any of our Arkansas members interested in plane pooling on up that way? I might fly to your place and then ride with you or something like that?

 I am sorry to say that I will not make it out. Family obligations have diverted my attendance. I was hoping to coordinate the two events; combine the family obligation with a two-day stop over but like everything else I have planned lately involving use of the Sundowner, it did not workout.
After flying this weekend in 100 degree heat from sea level, it might be a good thing...45 minutes to climb to 4500 msl with a 2300 load. Return trip in cooler (low 90s) weather took less time but still slow. And neither direction saw the ASI go above 100 kts indicated.
Blue Skies and enjoy BAC Fest!!

Deb and I are planning to make reservations tomorrow (wed - sat) looking forward to seeing the 21st century sundowner!!

I have talked with Jerry Walters who is the owner of Brittain Autopilots and although he has a prior commitment, he will try to have someone participate in our Vendor display at BAC Fest. Hope to see you there too.

We plan to fly in from Salt Lake City on the 17th. I will be there through the end but my wife has to fly on to the east coast commercially on the 18th. See you there!

Gene & Becky McPherson from Magnolia, Arkansas will be at BacFest 2006 from Aug 16th and leave Saturday morning Aug. 19th......look forward to renewing acquaintenances and meeting new friends.

See You There!!!

I am still hoping to attend. Work schedule for me is always last minute, so it is hard to be sure yet.
I really think it will be a great event.

I want to know who's coming.

Seventeen folk have reserved rooms so far.

I know there are others coming that haven't reserved.

Don't wait too long. Don't think they'll run out of rooms but no use taking a chance.

Getting close to that BFR?
Need an instrument proficiency check?
I have lined up a CFI/CFII who will provide these and any other instructor related services in your airplane at Absolutely NO CHARGE for his time.
If this is something you would interested in taking advantage of while you are at BAC Fest please e-mail me directly [email protected] and I will put you in contact with him.

BACfest

I'm registered, have a room, and plan to attend if the weather is decent VFR. I'll be traveling from North Georgia and arriving on Thu and will depart Sat afternoon, or Sun morning, again depending on the weather conditions. Looking forward to this relatively long trip, as I need the time and experience.
