Scott Brunner may be the first BAC member to own a BEECH BUM (Northeast) and a BEECH NUT (MidAtlantic) Tshirt.

Sometimes you feel like a NUT sometimes you don't !!!I know I heard that somewhere . I think our AIRCZAR purposely set the weather bar low today so we can have a Mid Atlantic encroachment into a Northeast fly in first. Seriously it is nice to see some of us getting together no matter what region . If you haven't registered for BAC FEST please do !!! Paul has organized what appears to be an outstanding event.
PS Tom, My attorney has informed me that I have to give you (some)credit for the shirt idea. Unfortunately you will not have a shirt for your legal issue so far until BACFEST .:)

To be factually correct, I am the first one to earn both a Beech Nut T-Shirt (Fly-In at Wakefield, VA) and a Beech Bum T-Shirt ("Landing on Ice") The fact that the NE Director has never sent my shirt is only a technicality!

Doctor White has opened his Tshirt status to public scrutiny.
It is true that he has "earned" a BEECH NUT Tshirt as he cleverly crafts fly-ins in HIS region to coincide with HIS schedule.
The MidAtlantic higherarchy, of which Allen White serves as Airczar, is not known for meeting the exact letter of the BAC laws.
Stretching things to suit THEMSELVES is common place.
However, Doctor White has not landed on the ice in the Northeast region. He did a facimile of an ice landing in Virginia.
Virginia is not in the Northeast Region so - "No BEECH BUM Tshirt for you".
Allen, you are welcome to come to Prince Edward Island, Canada or Reading PA to get one of OUR superior Tshirts.

Just a quick follow up.

The restaurant at KGED was very good along with excellent service. The wx looked a little better today so I saddled up and filed for an IFR flight and FINALLY got some IMC. I shot the GPS 22 and got some time in a hold. A fun day, also making a stop in OCMD (KOXB) and a quick drive to the boardwalk to pick my Bride up some fudge since she was dealing with a migraine.

To our BC members if you are reading this, is there a place up there where we can do an ice landing? I don't think there is any place down here in WA or OR for an ice landing. Anyone? Tom, can we earn a Beech Bum T-Shirt if there is a place out here?

Details, Details, Details! I'm falling down on my Airczar duties because somehow I let this fly-in be rescheduled when I'm already committed elsewhere!

Also, I keep checking the event calendar for NE fly-in opportunities to get one of the fabled BEECH-BUM T-Shirts and the don't seem to exist! Makes one wonder, do the shirts really exist? Kind of like the tree falling in the woods with no one to hear it!

Oh nevermind, I do see one for next Saturday. I'll be flying to Akron, OH for the International Soap Box Derby Championships. Should I make that a fly-in Tom?

Allen White (aka Airczar of MidAtlantic) once again is stretching his authority. Note: I posted an International Region fly-in for this past weekend so I guess Allen can post a fly-in for Ohio.
He will be required to meet the standards of the Northeast Region to earn his BEECH BUM Tshirt. That being, show up with your plane to one of our approved fly-ins and get a Tshirt. Another note: Allen, "approved" means you can not just fly up to Cape May, New Jersey from Virginia to qualify. It must be official using my version of official.

GOOD NEWS: Jeff Knight flew 3,000 miles from British Columbia, Canada to Prince Edward Island here in the Canadian Maritimes and landed during our PEI Century of Flight Fly-in on Sunday. He has qualified for a covetted and stylish BEECH BUM Tshirt. He is on the beautiful island for the week so I get a chance to personally present it to him. That's quite a ride in a Sport. He says 28 hours. We met yesterday for the first time but have corresponded through the club for a long time.

Doctor Allen White you coniving scoundrel, eat your heart out!

28 hours of flying for the North East region shirt. The bar has been set.I think the only way to top that is have aliens from outer space join and attend a Mid Atlantic fly-in.Stay tuned for the August news letter :).

Great job Jeff!! Sorry I had to cancel for this year. Yellowknife last year was a blast. My day job got in the way this year. Had I known there was a Beech Bum t-shirt involved i might have found a way to get GTGS to chase you down there. I would have loved to meet Mr. Corcoran as well. BTW, I'm thinkin' you've got the PT point race locked down now!

Cheers, Cliff

What a great reception in Prince Edward Island! To be met at the pumps by a founding member of our great BAC was quite unexpected and welcomed! I have chatted in the forum with many of our members, but other than Cliff Conrad, who shared the field with me in Cold Lake and John Raydish from BC, I have not met any other member of the club. And then to find out that the Century Flight Club event was an official BAC event made me jump for joy! Really?, an international region event that I can actually get President's Points for is amazing! Tom was the opitome of what BAC stands for. He made sure I was fuelled up, parked, and my luggage was transported to catch the shuttle. We had an opportunity to check out and talk about each of our aircraft and have made arrangements to get together later in the week before I head back west.

To make things official, I have posted my flight plan, flight times and fuel consumption for the trip I just completed. The Century of Flight Club event originated in Oliver, BC., but I left my home base of Cold Lake, AB. and met them at their first stop in Swift Current SK. This is a group of approx 100 aircraft who gather together each year to explore our great country by GA aircraft. This all started in 2009 when the club flew from Vancouver, BC. To Beddeck, NS., the birthplace of powered flight in Canada with the Silver Dart to celebrate 100 years of powered flight. Since then I have flown with them to the Yukon, Northern Saskatchewan, North West Territories and now Prince Edward Island. It's a great trip wherever we go and allows you to network with pilots of all experience levels.
