Sussex Co DE (KGED)

Morn'n Folks,

I'm grounded on the first as my medical expires - haven't had a chance to get to the doc with the added complication that I probably need glasses before passing the vision test... I could make out the letters OK - but - the little circles with the microscopic openings in one of the four quadrants killed me last time... I passed - LOL - but many of my choices were just borderline guesses... I hate that test...
:)

Sorry...

I'm hoping to get this all completed by next weekend though - if I can find an eye doctor with openings... I don't usually have any problem getting an appointment with my AME...

Regards,
Scott

Scott, I had the same problem with the vision test a number of years ago. So my normal procedure is to have an eye exam at an optometrist a few days before the medical. I do much better with their exams and then I have them give me a copy of their results. My medical will still have me look in the eye exam machine and I usually cannot see very well in them. I then give the copy of my O.D.'s exam and my IME will accept that so I don't have to be required to wear glasses. It is a bit of trouble if you want to go to that length, but I did it and it works every time.

John, Allan,

If I go to KGED, do I get miles from KOSH? HA!
Anyway, we're returning Friday from OSH, so Saturday is a good possibility.

Hi Mike,

I like your idea - let me give that a shot... The machine in my AME's office looks like it's from the 70's as well - which probably isn't helping... I'll give him a call to ask if this would be acceptable... Thanks for the suggestion...

Scott

What time on the 3rd at KGED are we planning? Ive been there a few times has a nice restaurant you can see the planes landing (Keep that in mind when you are on final!)

Weather for tomorrow is rain, with possible t-storms. Sunday is supposed to be OK. Anybody give a thought to. A re-schedule for Sunday?

Man - Dave - you just can't catch a break... I hope it works out for you - I've always enjoyed the BAC fly-ins... Except for the Mid-Atlantic region there doesn't seem to be much success anywhere in BAC for fly-ins this year... The biggest turn out I've ever seen was the one to Nantucket a few years ago... We were fortunate to have nice weather...

Regards,
Scott

Sunday works if the weather is poor. I was just at KGED today doing some instrument approaches into KSBY. Will check weather and the forum in the morning for an update. Hope to see everyone either day.

Well, two mice made it to KGED. Some sprinkles on departure as I headed south but no real rain until I was on my way back to our motor home in ocean city md.

Eric, so nce to meet you and your family. Since we're so close we'll have to get the ladies out for a dinner flight.
