Flight Levels
BAC @ Arlington 2012 July 11-15, 2012
Well it's time to start planning once more....... and this year we need some special help.
This year the Fly-in is scheduled for the 11th - 15th of July

We have gotten enough commitment from BAC members to participate, that we made the commitment to the staff at Arlington.

In years past I have pretty much ran all the leg work as well as manning the booth at least parts of all 5 days of the fly in.

This year, again, that will not be possible. I am currently experiencing some health issues that preclude me from personally running the show, and I may be able to attend a day in there somewhere (uncertain) ....but I am hoping (read: begging) to get someone to step up and sort of help run the show for the BAC booth.

Our own flying Dutchman, Marty Vanover has stepped up to the plate and has already expressed some great ideas and thoughts. Please stay tuned to the forum thread on Arlington for the latest updated and for putting your name on the list for volunteering to man the booth for a while

Your help and efforts in this regard are well worth the effort. The rewards will be a GREAT dinner event, Attachment 392
on BAC's nickel, Free admission for the first 5 members for all five days, that sign up, as well as making new friends or re-connecting with old ones. Your memories of the event will certainly be pleasant ones!

I will be doing all the leg work, including the gathering/scheduling of volunteers and making all the arrangements with the Arlington staff, but we need to move RIGHT AWAY!

They have been gracious enough to continue their "special" deal with us as far as the booth fee goes.... And the Executive committee feels (as do I) that it would be a shame to lose the momentum we have produced thus far by our presence.

This is a call to action, last minute as it may be, and we have now committed with the staff there.

PLEASE examine your circumstances and see if you can't make room in your schedule to step up to the bat. I would consider it a pleasure to help all the way till the last possible moment, in any way I can!

Please email me at thom@beechaeroclub.org with any questions or volunteer offers.

OR you can leave questions and opinions in this thread.

Thanx Jack, Let me know which additional slots you'd like and I will put it on the calender.

THANKS! Hope I can make part of it so's I can see 'yall!

I really want to make it up and help out and be there, I especially want to fly up there this year since last year the weather didn't permit, but with our new website launch and all of the problem we are having I am forecasting working weekends through the better part of July. :-(

Thank You new member Clif Pierschbacher (BAC member ID: CPAir) for stepping up and helping out!
Getting close guys!

Hey Thom.... thanks for getting this out there. Dawn and I will certainly be at Arlington, especially since we live next door. You can put me down for 11 to 1 all the days for now, except Thursday since Beckers seem to have that one covered. I'm sure we'll have our plane there Wednesday morning..... and remember, I have the banner and coffee pot!

Sure would be great to see you there Thom! Lets hope the weather gods shine on this event

Guys I'm sorry I won't be there this year. My plane is in Arkansas (long story) and I will be heading back there. Have fun. It is the best west coast flyin I've attended.

Too Bad you can't make it. I am trying hard to make it for part of the event - and I owe you a big breakfast - Hope I can do that some day!!!!

Mark & Dawn, thank you for stepping up and helping out. I REALLY hope I can get there to see you guys again. There are just some things you can't control - but I AM trying!

Thom,
I can fill in the two afternoon slots on Friday (as well as the two on Thursday).

Thom,

As my basement is the BAC warehouse for back issues of BACTalk, let me know if you want some back issues and how many. Still wishing I could be there but my family is arriving for a couple of weeks. Have fun and let me know about the magazines.

Chris .... You bet! I think if you could get them to Mark Hoskins that would be the most expedient way .... unless you think Marty would want to carry them on his commercial flight (not likely). Let me know if you want me to do anything to expedite!

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the NW's small banner? The smaller square one? We have the lrger long one for the booth, but the one that designates our parking area is no wherre to be found! PLEASE leave a post here or email me if you have it. BAC@Arlington is fast approaching!

THX

Thank you Chris, I'll be looking for them!

I do hope someone will step up and let us know where our small BAC banner went? Thom mentioned that he sent it out last year to help out, but never received it back..... We could really use it about now :)

Mark Hoskins

Sorry for the late post .... Thanx Chris for the mags, and the help trying to locate the small banner. I scoured my hanger and plane to hopefully find it ... to no avail.
But HEY! I did find some other stuff I have been looking for! (Damn that Chemo!!)

I've just checked the weather and it looks decent..... for the PacNorWest. The long term forecast is for sun every day except Saturday with abundant sun on Sunday. Temps will be in the low-mid 70s and it should be dry for the most part with Saturday forecasted for "periods of rain". Of course, that deck will be reshuffled a couple times before the fly-in, but it is an encouraging forecast. If you can be there Friday night, we will have our BAC dinner after the big top shuts down (5:00 - 6:00 pm). So plan to be there for Friday and enjoy the social activity and good food Friday night.

We still need a couple of volunteers to help man the booth!
And for all that plan to attend, it might be good to post what your intended arrival date/time is so that Marty & crew can be looking out for ya.
Post here and it will help keep the thread on the main page up until Arlington begins!

Thanx to All!
