We do not have a Musketeer in the AIR RACE CLASSIC (June 22nd to 25th 2015)

Thanks to everyone for ideas, support and making the Beech Aero Club such a great organization . 130 gallons so far . This could be a lot of fun with some fly-ins and monitoring by the club . Hopefully we will have a Baby Beech in the race this year . You guys are awesome !!!!

It appears we will not have a Baby Beech in the race this year. Special thanks to all of you that pledged support .

News Flash!!! Sue will be flying her Sundowner in the Air Race Classic . Her team name is "Forever 21" and she will have a couple big shiny BEECH AERO CLUB logo's on her plane ( because she is a proud member). Several members have expressed interest in helping her with fuel costs. It is a 2500 mile race and she has to get to Va from Texas to the start point. She has expressed gratitude but would rather have us donate something to the race itself in the form of a program ad . If any of you are interested in still contributing ,I propose you can email me [email protected] 1. State how much 2. I can email you a pay pal invoice for that amount . 3. We can keep the contribution amounts anonymous so no one feels pressured . 4. I can post the totals so the club can see how much is being raised . 5. At the start of the race ,We can present her with a gift card from the amount raised. ( checks can be sent also for those that choose not to use pay pal ) More race info to follow. Thanks Everyone.

I am in to help too. But I am confused as to what you plan. She asked for us to sponsor the race with an ad. But not what you are planning?

That makes two of us Paul . :) The club has a ad in the program and will possibly give a BEECH specific award . Currently we are at approx. $300 towards Sue's fuel bill . If anyone wants to contribute towards that email me and I will send you a pay pal invoice . If not please join us at a Fly In and monitor the race. I am not aware of any other Type Clubs promoting any of there members in the race . I think this will be a fun event for everyone involved and everyone that wants to be involved. One thing you can say about the Beech Aero Club is we know how to have a good time.

Any plans to make this a meet-at-the-end-of-the-race for some of us mouse drivers so we can cheer the arrival?

Do we have an "airport closed to traffic" time window we need to avoid?

Thanks,
trumpet nelson

Okay the race has officially started . If anyone is interested in tracking it live here is the link http://trackleaders.com/arc15. One Beechcraft is in the race (a Bonanza) . Member Sue Jones sends her best and is very grateful for the support several of you extended. Disappointing but at least we made the effort. I have refunds coming to everyone that contributed extra.

Hey Cloyd, bad weather in Texas all last week ( probably longer than that) She wasn't able to make it to Stafford Va by last Friday for check in. First year in a long time that there hasn't been a Mouse in the Race . Approx 55 planes entered in the race . Member Gene Nora Jessen has been active for many years and Sue has about 6 years I believe . BAC has a program ad and is giving out a Beech Award (fastest Beech by Handicap ). In keeping with the "all for One " Motto we are the only type club promoting a racer , make or type. Several of us were looking forward to this .
