Liberal, KS Pilgrimage

Putting this on our calendar.  Anne and I are likely to RON to be able to head back into the Rockies in the cool of Sunday morning.

Still in MT with kids in hospital.  Hoping for the best and plan to attend.

Only a 2 hour flight for me from the Amen River House and KANK in Salida, CO.

Hopefully they have a flag for a noon salute with the trumpet ....

See you all then !

Update, the Liberal, KS local EAA chapter will be having lunch at the museum at 12:00 on the 18th and have invited us to join in.  It sounds like a good time to rub elbows with other aviators, so I think we should join in.

We will still plan on being on the ground by 11:30 to meet up and go to the museum.  When you land taxi to the ramp on the south end by the museum, just don't cross over into the museum display area, it is marked.  It will be a short walk.

Look forward to see you there.

Weather forecast is looking great for this fly-in!  Way to go Denis!

I am currently on a return from NH, and parked in Grove, OK for the night.  Hopefully can make it back home to San Antonio tomorrow.  As one of our presidents once stated ... " .... storms have consequences" !  Dude.

I will be flying to Liberal from Salida, CO.  About a 2 1/2 hour flight.  And then returning to the mountains after our lunch.  Lots of parking room if anyone wants to join me.  Good times indeed.

Unable to attend - - very sad.  Currently in Salida, CO for about a week .... so close!

Mr.  OCD (that's me) found some fraying on my uplock cable (left gear) at the cable swage on the bo.  So the next time I take off will be when I start my trip home to San Antonio where it will be replaced.  Yeh .... I know .... not too many pilots crawl under the wing and look up into the wheel well ......

All attendees are invited to fly to Salida, CO (KANK) after the lunch at Liberal (aka: Denis's event  KLBL) and spend the night in our vacation homes here.  That will give you a fresh/early start to go home Sunday morning if you wish.

I think the sharper ones actually do, but it’s a whole lot easier to do on a Sierra than a Bo.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend after all. I have a maintenance issue that needs to be taken care of first. I had to send one of my AV-30's back for repair due to the display failing. :(

Neither the AI or DG are required for VFR flight. POH Section II, Limitations, Page 2-17. Lack of an AI only grounds you for IFR flight.

Yes but I had to remove it and sent it to them. My pitot / static system is open until it is replaced.

Michael (aka: raffle winner),

I would be interested in the problem and the fix.  My AV-30 will be going in to replace my un-accurate VSI.  Which is not listed on my required equipment list in my POH.   A "freebie" extra for my panel of steam gages in the Bonanza.  Still in the box back in San Antonio.  So .... very interested in your saga.

Michael, sorry you won't be able to make it.  (2) attendee's with maintenance issues now.

Allen, I am working on a full report to post, but for the PT points, David Stevens (KFLY) and Denis Weiser (I75) attended at KLBL.  Need anything else?

Thanks, Denis.

Did you both fly in or did anyone drive?
