Beech Party 2024 - 16-20 October 2024

Around The Moon
I have reserved an RV spot near the flightline for our BAC hospitality trailer/chairs/table, once again. I plan to arrive early on Monday, Oct. 14th, weather permitting. If not, then as soon as a weather window opens to fly in. In 2022 and 2023 I was the first plane to arrive. This is one of the most enjoyable fly-ins you will attend, hands down. Plenty to do, but not overwhelming like Oshkosh. Sunsets and camping at the airport are relaxing events. Worth the trip just to see the Staggerwings fly in and the museum displays. And the secret donut shop I found is excellent!

For the full registration, be prepared to spend $350 to $400. It makes you realize how great of a deal our annual BACFest has become.

For those wanting to save some serious coin .... I hope to see you at our three day BACLite 2024 on May 17th in Colorado. Once you arrive at the airport (KANK), your expenses will be ... wait for it ..... zero. Sweet. Details are posted here in the Fly-in Forums.

Photos are from Tullahoma in 2023. The BAC hospitality trailer was about 40 steps from the flight line, parked next to Fast Fred and his rig.

Beech Party is a very relaxing, comfortable, friendly atmosphere; Nelson’s touch with his hospitality RV rig puts it over the top. It is a most rewarding fly-in. I recommend it to all who have yet to experience Beech Party. It is like a mini-Airventure for Beechcraft. You will see some awesome fly-bys, you will eat well and there are plenty of other activities to do off-site.

Better late than never. I just registered! Plane has been in for its annual and all is complete. I will be flying up late Friday afternoon and staying thru Sunday morning. As crazy as work has been, there was no way to make it without the ability to fly there....

My wife and I will be flying in and planning to arrive mid/late morning Friday. This will be our first fly in anywhere. What may we expect upon arrival? Where should we deplane and tie down? We rented a car and were told to pick it up at the museum, not at the FBO. Any advice would be appreciated.

Andy, welcome to Beech Party! The museum is located off the threshold end of runway 36. When you arrive on Friday you will see a lot of airplanes parked at that end. When you taxi off into the grass a marshaller will direct you to a parking spot and that is where you will tie down and deplane. We have BAC transportation that we can help you with your luggage and make sure that you can get back and forth to your hotel. BAC has a hospitality area over by the RV camping. You will see our tent and logo. if you text me on your arrival 780-812-8198, we will be sure to come right over and give you a hand. Looking forward to seeing you.

I have never "taxied off into the grass" or never been off the hard unless airborne. I am just a bit anxious about that. Hopefully the marshaller and other ground traffic will be patient as I slowly transition from the hard to the grass.

Forgive my ignorance, but what type of tie downs are in the grass? I have ratchet straps with "S" hook ends. Will I need something else?

Rolling off asphalt into grass will be a non event after the first time. The marshaller should have a good area to do it, if you're following a plane and get to see them it helps with that first time concern.

On grass you'll need a tie down that goes into the grass. Search on Aircraft Spruce will get options to spend some bucks on choices from a corkscrew type (yes looks just like what the pet store sells) to "the claw". I forgot my stuff one Beech Party and we rolled over to Harbor Freight and bought the cork screw dog tie downs and ratchet straps and I survived. Not aviation grade, might not be as good in a big wind, but worked.

Perfect, that is the advice I needed. Thank you

I arrived yesterday at 4:45 pm and managed to snag the crew car for a grocery run to Walmart. Our hospitality trailer (photo) is set up and ready-to-go. Lots of snacks! A great flight from San Antonio yesterday and a beautiful sunset and moon late yesterday evening here at the Tullahoma airportIMG_2791a.JPG. Nice.

Jeff came by about an hour ago on his two wheeler. He and JP plan to tackle the "dragon" tomorrow on their Harleys.

Hope to see all of you soon,
trumpet nelson
