BACFest attendance update on 9/1/12

We now have 65 registered for Gulf Shores. The record attendance for BACFest is 75 in Myrtle Beach, so we're 87% of the way to attaining a new record. And more than 25 have indicated they will be flying their Baby Beech to KJKA. The record number of member planes making it to BACFest is 32, also in Myrtle Beach.

Don't forget, September 1 is the deadline for registering at the early reduced rate. The Island House Hotel has a few more rooms available and said they would extend the deadline for the group rate for another week or until the rooms were taken. September is still peak time at the beach, so don't get shut out by not making your reservation. It's better to reserve a room now and cancel later, if need be. They won't charge your credit card until you check-in.

Doesn't look like I can fly the Sundowner to BAC Fest...can't afford the extra time off from the new job.
Is anyone from the Northeast flying themselves down? Schedule pending, I might be able to share the cost and piloting chores.

Alternatively, for those flying commercial, can we organize a pickup at Pensacola. At past BAC Fests we established that it's not the club's responsibility. But perhaps members arriving at the same time can share a cab.

Jeff and I are Registered, Reserved, and flights booked to Pensicola. I have not looked into car rental...

arrive: 9/27 AirTran Airways Flight 230 10:30am PNS (Pensicola) so if there is a pick up or shared ride option that would be great...

BACFest update on Sunday, September 2:

65 are currently registered to attend BACFest. (38 members plus 27 spouses/guests).
28 have indicated they are flying their planes to KJKA.
63 have indicated they plan to attend the dinner at Lambert's on Thursday evening.
6 have indicated they plan to fly commercially.
If these numbers hold, this will be the 3rd largest BACFest and the 2nd most Baby Beeches to be flown in.

Mark and I are flying commercially. However, we are actually flying in/out of Nashville so we can combine BACFest with a family visit and a drive thru part of the country neither one of us has seen much of before. We will be arriving at the Gulf Shores hotel either later on Wednesday or Thursday noonish. That's still TBD. Counting the days already..................

Well, my 5 day trial started and we are 3 days in. It will end on Friday, but we will have to schedule time to come back for closing arguments. After 5 18 hour days thus far, with more to come, I deserve to go and I fully intend to go if I am able. I will have to confirm reservations sometime after Saturday. Right now, I really, really want (need) to go flying.
