BACFest 2012 - Gulf Shores, Alabama

Candy, give him all 6 at once. You will have fulfilled the obligation, yet have the pleasure of watching him cry because he can't drink them all before they get warm! A decent person would then share them with his friends.

I will bring the funnel. :)

Working through our plans.....we're excited about BACFest!!!

It looks like a Wednesday afternoon departure around 3ish and overnighting at KCDN, Woodward Field Airport - Camden, South Carolina. Breakfast then a 3-4 hour hop to KJKA, hope to be in around noon. Bo tells me to save room for Lamberts, I think Mary and I can do that. :)

Lambert's is going to love BAC! We have over 50 planning to go to dinner Thursday night! They don't have private rooms, but the owners do have an aviation background and they treat pilots well. Hopefully they'll keep us all seated close together. A word of advice to everyone attending, Lambert's DOES NOT take credit cards so bring cash. They have a bountiful selection of dinners in the $15/person range.

Now let's all get ready to catch some throwed rolls!!!

Doug, it seems like our registration number is stuck on 57. Nobody wants to be number 58 or 59, they're holding out to be number 60 and get a free drink! Maybe you should just buy the first round for everyone! Or you could do eenie-meenie-miney-mo once we gather round the ol' watering hole. :)

Sharmalie and I are planning an attending dinner on Thursday, not sure if we had to tell anybody, I'm looking forward to throwing my rolls, Sharmalie is practicing her her duck and weave now!

Steve

Not sure if the last post went thru so I'll do it again, I just remembered this, last year I did a quick chat on how CAP looks for you when things go wrong, if there's open time and your looking for a filler, I could prepare something a little bit more involved. Let me know.

Steve

Looks like Isaac is targeting Gulf Shores. Is there any contingency for this? A category II isn't that powerful, but it can cause some wide spread damage. I know the Gulf communities have some experience with these events and should be prepared well in advance. But, if it strengthens to a Cat III it can be different story. Are there any plans if there is wide spread damage at the hotel?

There won't be.

Trust me, I slept at a Holiday Inn Express.

If we can't hold BAC Fest at the hotel we'll all fly in relief supplies.

Cloyd,

Now they are saying Nawlin's. You best be getting your Sierra to higher ground, not to mention yourself. I figure the Ozarks should be safe enough.

Cloyd has another scouting mission to KJKA planned in a couple of weeks. Should Isaac strike the area, that, and discussions with the hotel, will determine what course of action would need to be taken.
