BACFest 2012 - Gulf Shores, Alabama

Attendance bumped up to 43 today as our distinguished colleague from Arizona signed up, Marty Vanover.
Say a few words Marty.....and try to limit it to only a few! :)

Calling all members! The clock is ticking down on the hotel reservation deadline (Aug. 26). Once again the eastern part of the country has been chosen for this years Big event and since more members live east of the Mississippi, we should see a huge turn-out!

So come on, stop foolin' around! Call the hotel and register, get the reservations for your animals at your kennel, get the plane ready, call the rental car company and get on board! This year's event will be one of the best yet so get it in gear and make your reservations!

See y'all in Gulf Shores!

So far we have over $2000 in door prizes. Great items and will make the trip well worth it. You must be present to win.

Slowly moving up in attendance.....I think the count is 46 people now. The countdown is on to get the good hotel rates. It's time to make your move, lock in a room and register. Great times, great door prizes, lots to learn and plenty to do in Gulf Shores! See ya there!

We are now at 53 registered attendees. Just 6 more days remain for getting the reduced group rate at the hotel. Sunday, August 26 is the deadline. We have already reserved more rooms than we had in the original room block, but the hotel said they can make a few more available at the group rate through this coming Sunday. Don't wait too long or you may get shut out if the hotel sells out.

Just registered, flying in with my two sons, Andrew, 23, and David, 20. Hope to get there Tuesday, then check out the pool, beach, etc. on Wednesday. I'll plan to have a rental car, so might have an empty seat or two to the events. Looking forward to this, it may even top Oshkosh!

The latest report now has 55 members planning to attend. Rooms at the hotel are dwindling. The BAC discount is only available till Aug. 26th! Get 'em while they last. This has the potential to be an all-time BACFest attendance record! Come on folks, you won't regret it!

Get your rooms and register today!

You have one more as of this morning. Honest, it was not because I could not decide, it was because our bids for September did not process until just two days ago. I will still have to see if I can drop my last turn on Thursday to make it for Lamberts, but otherwise, i managed to bid around Friday through Sunday.

It took 12 overnights in Mexico to successfully get those days off, but it is worth it to hang out with my friends. I am looking forward to it.

The numbers are slowly creeping up! Come on boys and girls get your rooms and register...you'll have a great time!

The person who signs up for the 60th, 70th, and 80th spots on the list will get a free drink from me. Let's go folks. Free drink on the beach!! :)

Doug

Sorry Cloyd, you can't cancel your current registration and re-register in hopes of getting a free drink from Doug! :)

Cloyd,

I think I will be glad to see you at BACFest. I will not try to rate how high you are on my "glad" list. BACFest is about renewing old friendships and making new ones. I hope members who are on the fence will decide to join us.

But let me clear up this "free drinks" issue. Our several bets were on Saints/Patriots and I did not win a single bets. However, the prize each time was a six pack of local beer. I have the box of local beer which, I attempted to ship at the time. As no one would ship it I am waiting for an opportunity to bring it to you though, I am flying to Gulf Shores via commercial and can not bring it this time either. Yes, the box is in my cellar and about four years old. But, it's yours fair and square.

I am not buying you a drink unless it is in response to you buying me one first... which history proves is about as likely as me flapping my arms and flying.

TC, do you know when is the only time CVH doesn't have a drink in his hand at BACFest?

When he has to buy his own! :)

Cloyd,

No worries. You can cash in on all the beers we owe you. I know it's at least four if not a six pack. That should at least get you through the first hour at the first reception, right? :) Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Candy,

You've got to be kidding!?!!?! Have you ever seen CVH drink a beer? He sips it like may 95 year old grandmother.....especially if he's buying!:D You don't have to worry about running out of beer with this guy!

See ya soon!

Hey Chris,

I've seen CVH drink. That's why I figured if I offered him the four beers we owe him, that should pretty much get him through the entire weekend. I can only hope that if he's sipping it, it's a damn good beer and not the watered down stuff with no flavor or kick. I myself like to enjoy the 9-10% alcohol beers. Make each one like a little mini vacation! ;)
