What's the record for most planes at a BAC Fest?

We had 32 BACplanes on the ramp in Myrtle Beach in 2007. Right now, there are 16 planes registered to be in Gulf Shores. It will be a convenient flight for the Southeast and South Central regions, so I'm hoping those members will descend into JKA and make this a record year!

I don't know where all the registrants are from but I know that AT LEAST 20 of 38 registered so far are NOT from SE and I only recognize 5 from the SE so the home team better get it in gear.

This is going to be the stupid question of the day, and I ask because I didn't notice anything in the thread--not that it may not be there... Is a rental car necessary? What's the plan for getting from point A (KJKA) to point B (Hotel) and beyond?

Looking forward to my first BACFest and getting to put some faces with names!

BAC is not making any arrangements for transportation between the airport and the hotel or any of the venues away from the hotel. Rental cars are available and members are encouraged to buddy up and share rides.

I'm checking with the FBO to see if taxi or shuttle service is available from JKA to the hotel.

I just heard back from Pat Simpson, the GM of Gulf Air Center, our host FBO. He says that taxis are readily available and he has a fleet of Hertz rental cars as well. If you plan to rent a car I would suggest you make your reservation well in advance.

Gary, we will make arrangements with those that have already rented cars for transportation between the hotel and the Naval Museum on Friday. If you do not want to rent a car for any additional side trips, you should only need to utilize cabs between the airport and hotel upon arrival and for departure.
