Flight Levels
All north central members, it has been a long cold winter. Weather permitting we would like to meet at noon on May 10th for BBQ on the field, no getting ground transpo. At Paola airport K81 just south of Kansas City. The name of the place is We B Smokin (http://www.websmokin.com/). They also seem to have some of the cheapest fuel around, i will check back later but as of 26 mar it was 499 a gallon at the ss.

Wish it wasn't so far, but that would be a long day flying from Michigan. Sounds like a great time.

I am bumping this thread to the top. This should be a great start to the fly-ins in the North Central Region. We are close to a couple of other regions and I invite all of you to come. See you at K81, Paola, KS!!!

This fly-in has everything you want....cheap fuel and great food. Let's plan on arriving by 11:30 a.m. This is just southwest a short distance from Kansas Ciy. For those of you who make it, you will receive a brand new "Life's A Beech" t-shirt. Let's hope for good weather and plan on great fun and food! See you soon at K81, Paola, KS!!!

This is one more reminder about our fly-in tomorrow. Come an join us for great food and friendship. If you have the time, join Linda and I afterwards at the Kansas Speedway for their NASCAR 400 mile race in the evening.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it. My work life has prevented me from completing the donut change on the Sierra. It is currently on jacks waiting for someone to work on it.

Hope everyone has fun and I will see you at the next fly-in. -Denis & Kathryn

Bbq was good. Flying was better. Going east and west you could have a tail wind in either direction :) 15 kts out of the east up to 3500ft and 26 knots from the west above 6000k. We only had two show, Mike Nielson his wife and me. Mike took a lot of pictures but is staying the night at the nascar race before going home. Cloyd i think he managed to get a picture or two of Minnie for you. If he does not post them in a few days feel free to hound him.

The We B Smokin fly-in was great...weather was clear although breezy with a nearly 90 deg. cross wind. Steve, Linda and I enjoyed a great BBQ meal at a very busy airport restaurant. Quite a few planes came and went while we were dinning. This is a very popular stop for pilots. Here's a couple of pics of Minnie and us:

We hope more of you can come next year. Many thanks to Steve Powers for hosting it. We have a lot of very special people in the BAC. Steve is one. He is retired Air Force and now installs systems that operate control surfaces in F-15 and F-18's. It is great to have people like him in the club.
