BACFest 2017 is Underway

Day 3 update.......51 people and 4 planes. Today's "gentle" winds and "light" drizzle didn't deter the BACers from getting out and exploring Newport.

Sure looks stormy, windy, and cool there....
82 today, 86 tomorrow, 90 on Sunday with bright sunshine in Jersey

Updated count.....we are now at 53 attendees and 5 planes. Four Sundowners and one Musketeer. May be the first BACFest with no retracts!

The "retracts" stayed away from New Bedford... They are parked at remote airports, i.e. Denis Weiser and Paul Werbin, away from the nastiness of the remnants of Hurrican Jose...

Hey now! This retract guy is working on his retract so he can take it to the next BACfest and you can take BAC that comment about the retract guys.

well, I know that it is already noon over there, but it occurs to me that because of the small number of aircraft you might not do a "fly out" like in past years: please do a fly out guys! Even if it is just a turn around the circuit all together you gotta show the world that the Baby Beeches still rule!!!

Cloyd-

I will let Steve respond, but Steve and "Minnie" have been to many BAC events, not just BACFest. Steve is a very active member. It's a bummer that a cylinder decided to go bad as he approached KEWB on Thursday but Steve handled it like a pro and landed in winds that were 20+ knots gusting to nearly 40 knots, and he did it on three cylinders. Hopefully the new cylinder will be FEDEX'd today for tomorrow...

Best wishes to Steve P., for a speedy recovery! I wish I was there to assist. I would enjoy working with you, Steve.

I missed this event and my BAC family reunion, but enjoyed BAC members and BAC aircraft in the Southwest Region. I got some Sierra time, BFR from great BAC member CFI and I even landed at Santa Maria, California, taxing on ramp of the Raddison hotel yesterday morning, the site of BACfest years ago. BAC home today!!!
