VA/NC--2 Events in 2 Days!

I made it into Suffolk for the Virginia Regional Festival of Flight with my friend Troy. The weather was cold and damp and no one else made it in. We took in all the sights and attended an FAA Wings seminar. In the afternoon, I was given recognition for completing the Virginia Aviation Ambassadors Program. I will be receiving a leather jacket with the VAA emblem embroidered on it. Since so many people left due to the weather, the fly in dinner had a lot of extra food and they invited all of the campers to have dinner with them free of charge! I carried my grille and hamburger for nothing! Slept through a nice rain storm in the tent. I love sleeping in a tent when it's raining! The next morning we had pancakes and sausage and then made a low altitude run to Kitty Hawk and First Flight Airport in NC. Troy and I toured the museum and then headed for home. Wish some others could have made the trip but the weather was not good and only us truly gifted pilots could navigate through the slop so I completely understand!
 
Well at least I didn't have to cancel due to weather yet again as work had me in Costa Rica over the weekend instead of sitting home cursing the low, white sky.

Hey nice work on getting the jacket . I got mine recently . I would have loved to come down there last weekend but was committed to a Charity Hockey game in Hershey Pa.I am open for any Mid Atlantic fly ins . Golf anyone ? Rivets to divots. LOL . John Persinger
 
Nice work on the Virginia Ambassador Program. NC has started one and MD is announcing theirs this week. Somilar deal. Visit every Airport in the state. Earn a jacket. Good way to see a lot of airports.
also if you are looking for another fun flght... On Tuesday May 83 at KORF Norfolk VA we have a seminar with free cook out dinner, waived Landing fees, dollar discount per gallon on Avgas. The topic is Emergency Operations and events. ATC will describe their response and the Norfolk Airport Fire Dept will be bringing their big loud high tech firefighting trucks and equipmemt. Not sure if I can make May 83? My DeLorean is in the shop for repairs and my going "Back to the Future" looks iffy! I sent off for my Maryland Passport on Monday! I've got some ideas for other flyins. Luray and tour the Caverns, then lunch and home. Bryce Resort and Golf. Any interest?

I might be able to slide out for the Tuesday (may 8 ) . As for Golf at Bryce That would be fun . I have flown in a few times recently but never played Golf there yet. Luray has some great fuel prices also. I just got my Maryland passport in today. I am game on helping with fly ins.
