Pop Up Northeast Fly In

sierra0th

Climbing to Cruise
Any of you Nor'easters (or others) interested in a pop up get together for lunch tomorrow? The weather looks to be great (as long as Cote shows no interest).

I would suggest Glens Falls KGFL as being somewhat centrally located and reported to have a restaurant on the field, or would entertain another destination.

Sounds great, Glenn! Too far to get there from Salt Lake City but I will be there in spirit! This is the way to connect with fellow members. More members should do this! Good on ya, Glenn!

Hi Glenn,

LOL - I was just there 2 weeks ago - wanted to check out that "Lincoln Logs" model home...

I may try and make it - if there is not too much turbulance - Jackie doesn't deal well with bumps...
:)

I'll post an update when I know better...

Regards,
Scott

More prep for the kitchen remodel tomorrow and I have two tests to take. Have fun !!!

We did decide to head to Ocean City Maryland (KOXB) for lunch at the Captains Galley Sunday around 1pm. At least I'll get some flying in this weekend. Wish I could make GFL tomorrow.

Went to KGFL today to check things out. Restaurant will be open from 8 til 2. I plan to get there about 11:30. Had the grilled reuben sandwich. It was tasty!

I'll check this thread between 9:30 and 10:00 tomorrow before I leave. Put up a post if you are going to make it.

Glenn

Hey Glenn,

Yeah - sorry - I'm not going to be able to make it - I've had a major head cold the last few days... I had to take some over the counter cold medicine last night - what's the reg again on that - so many hours - right? Anyway my head is still all clogged up... LOL - it looks perfect today - I'm watching the glow of the sunrise from my front porch... Perfectly clear and cold... Arrgh...

Regards,
Scott

Well, it looks like it's just going to be me this morning. It's too nice of a day not to go. The Fall flying weather doesn't get any better than this in the Northeast. Hope everyone gets some flying in this weekend.

Glenn

Glenn,

I got this on Monday two days late. I appreciate your initiative. You've always been a staunch fly-in supporter - showing off your immaculate airplane.
Saturday was my FIFTIETH high school reunion in Haverhill, Massachusetts. It's only 50 miles from my home so I drove.
But I did get to fly from Mansfield MA to Hyannis (Cape Cod) and back before noon.

A "Pop-Up" fly-in is always a great idea even if it's only one other plane that gets to be there with you!

I am bummed that I was already committed and could not go. (Of course that guaranteed good weather).
My commitment was the last of the Wright Flight students going on their cross country flights. These last two were a couple of our High School Liaison Teachers who took the course to stay ahead of their young students. These two twin sisters, who ARE Sisters (Catholic School) did fine. And as an added treat, their older sister, also a nun, was there to record it. This older sister was, it turns out, my chemistry teacher at Cathedral HS back in 1968!! (Cue the Twilight Zone theme). And, of course, she remembered that she gave me a pass on that semester despite my still owing her a paper.
