Nantucket, Mass. Spetember 18

Tom and everone;
Sounds good 9:30 am meet at Plymouth(PYM), depart (incase some are running late) 10:30 am via Martha's vineyard (no stop)- direct Nantucket. The Ben and Jerrys is for the return trip if anyone wants to stop on the return. I am stopping to visit with friends. There are a couple of resturants I have spoken with on Nantucket any suggestions? I am open to if any one has been there. I will go with your suggestions and make the arrangments.

P.S. lunch is also free

Eddie 615-504-2368 call any questions.

New update; I have $5 discount on admission to Nantucket museum if anyone is interested. My great-great grandfather had something to do with settling the island. I was there when I was 14 yes old I need a refresher course on the history. Anyone is welcome to go.

Looks to be a great turn out for the BAC Nantucket fly-in! Ronald, Scott, Gary and Mary, Alan, Ken, and Tom look forward to seeing everyone. Hope that is a partial list! Everyone is welcome. We have planes from 6 different states that I know of coming!

Remember; KPYM stage 9:30am depart 10:30 (if weather bad we will eat in Plymouth as alternate with points).
Discount on fuel at Plymouth
$5 discount on Nantucket museum admission
FREE LUNCH & Ben-Jerry's at Hyannis on return
Martha's Vineyard stop after Nantucket

Stuck in Tn this morning ( in plane with headset on when I pulled the plug for today). I hated to not take advantage of a full 32-38 kt tail wind but the storms were moving too fast. Looking to leave sometime in the morning. Spoke with Nantucket airport today. They said they will find a place to put us together and are looking forward to seeing us come in.

Resturant: I have looked at reviews, and asked the airport guy. Either Crosswinds (Wings resturant) or A & K Diamonds walking distance of airport. You can find both menus on line, Diamonds seems to have a wider selection, but either is fine with me. Let me know.

We just arrived. Perfect weather until just pass Providence, RI. We flew across Long Island and across the water to Conn. And up the shore line until..... The shore line makes a 90 degree turn and went from 3900 ceiling an 10 mile to probably 300' ceiling and 0! It was crazy! Just THAT fast! Made a uturn went back 5 miles, turned straight north into Mass, then east to shore and the weather broke enough(1500 ft overcast winds 10- gust to 20kts). Now at the hotel- skies clear! Great out look for tomorrow!

Also, 100LL at KPYM tomorrow staging normal 4.80- Club price 4.50. Meeting 9:30- depart for Nantucket via Martha's Vineyard fly over at 10:30am for free lunch at Nanutcket.

We will not be able to make it. Staying close to home with a beach trip in case we have to be back for Mary's father. Looks to be a great day to fly!!!!!

Have fun everyone...fly safe and eat a lobstah roll or two for me!

Hey Folks...

Thanks for the great time on Nantucket... It seems we had a pretty big turn out - Mice everywhere.... Jackie and I enjoyed meeting everyone... It wasn't the nicest flying weather - as I was skirting clouds at 2,500 feet in both directions- but - once out by Nantucket the weather was beautiful... I got a kick out of the old "wings" connection - big fan of the show...

Here is a slide show of our trip to KACK - if anyone wants a full size image - please let me know...
For best results - just hit "F11" to go full screen - then hit "F11" once the show is over to go back to normal...

Great Slideshow. It must be nice to have a copilot to help with photos. Mine don't get taken as often and the turn out fuzzier!

BAC at ACK!

It was a great fly-in! Thanks Ed for setting everything up! Bucket List : Nantucket {Check}, Martha's Vineyard {Check}, fly over NYC at night {Check}!

What a time! Thanks to Everyone. What BAC event has the Goodyear blimp at it! Made a lot of new friends and also learned more about our planes. This was my second attempt at holding a BAC fly-in and the other members made it a success( first in July at Burbank, Ca to fly to Catalina island weather hampered it. I did make it to the island though and this one at Plymouth/Nantucket). Hope to see everyone again at Bac Fest. More pics to come in the next few days.

P.S. I flew the Hudson river at 2000ft Saturday afternoon. That IS a must do( Yankee stadium,Central Park, Empire State building, Ground Zero).
