May events near San Antonio

Looking for a place to fly? Couple opportunities near San Antonio Texas in May. Smithville (May 14) is usually a lot of fun and well attended if weather is good. There are links on their link below. Zuehl (May 21) has not had one in a while, but a big grassy field with lots of activity. Check out the links, maybe see you at one or both!

THIS WEEKEND - SATURDAY - ABOUT NOON - SMITHVILLE, TEXAS - 84R

I have placed this on the calendar as a south central region FLY-IN EVENT. Charlie's post/ thread makes this a qualifying event for PT points (thanks). Wow! It is about 50 miles east of Austin, and the runway is paved so we shouldn't be landing in mud .... at least.

I plan to be there (weather depending) at noon for the food (of course) so look for my green and white Sundowner and we'll park together and share stories. Post here if you might join me for a $100 lunch!!

I will be monitoring the weather from the hangar tomorrow morning for the route to Smithville. Less than an hour flight, but current forecast is 60% thunder bumpers after noon tomorrow. My hangar doors might remain closed on this one ...... shucks.

My last two flights have been cancelled due to thunderstorms and forecast thunderstorms. Getting old, but gotta fly safe.
