Last Saturday, the Foley Lambert's attracted 5 planes and 8 people. This Saturday, June 13, is the Sikeston version of the Lambert's challenge. No prizes to be won.....just good ol' country cookin' and all the throwed rolls you manage to catch. Plan to arrive at KSIK between 11:30 and noon (Central time) and we'll call for the van to pick us up at noon. Free lunch for all BACers! Post a message if you are planning to attend. Ann and I will see you at the airport.

We just got home from Foley. Stayed Sunday to visit the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. Wow!

We plan to take off again on Thursday for Hannibal, MO and fly from there to KSIK on Sat AM. See y'all there.

Weather update - right now Sikeston is calling for a 30% chance of showers Saturday afternoon. The fly-in is still a "go" at this point. If that changes, I will post info ASAP. If you are in doubt Saturday morning, feel free to call my cell phone, 859-707-6039.

Obviously, our announced plans are in the circular file cabinet. We have been under a severe thunderstorm watch since 6PM yesterday and will continue until at least 7PM this evening.

As we have a prior committment Sunday evening, even if we could get to Sikeston by Sat noon, we cannot risk being weathered in until Sunday afternoon.

For those of you that make it, good eating and catch a roll for us.

I'm also unsure if I will be able to come... There's the ongoing chance of weather this weekend, and the rest of my crew is at a cattle show this weekend.

So I'm not officially bailing yet, but it's looking marginal.

The FSS briefer said go IFR, I said no, he said then don't go. I guess this an official bailout for Ann and I.

Looks like the weather won't cooperate this weekend, so Lambert's (KSIK) has been cancelled. Might try again later this year. :(
 
Will likely be September before I can reschedule it, but if someone else wants to play host, feel free to get it on the calendar sooner.
