Ice Runway Fly-In for 2022

Ice creepers are like golfshoes they slip onto your boots and have studs on the bottom but bring a chair to put them on
 
Ice runway closed again today Sunday due to melt. 

Hopefully we are good for one more. Stretch of cold to give us a quality weekend.

I'm going to try again next weekend.

 

I need a reason to put on my ice creepers.
 
Ice runway is open again today Monday for those that want to try it out.

The refreeze has left slippery conditions(the ice runway has best traction after some snow is ground into the surface forming a crust.)

Light winds out of the north will increase this afternoon.

Please check NOTAMs before going and weather conditions at LCI to verify visibility.
 
Ice runway is closed again as of this evening with hope to open for this weekend.

The dreaded day has come to pass.

The Ice Runway at Alton Bay has closed for the season. 

If you missed it, you can try for it next year.
