Headed to Andromeda
In mid June we will start getting our planning started for the fun trips to/from/around BACFest 2017. Since many of us will be flying past Washington DC I suggest that you start with the Washington DC special flight rules area course. This is a required item for VFR flying within 60 Miles of Washington. The short free course is available at https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/CourseLanding.aspx?cID=405
We can have an imeet discussion in mid June for questions.
Next will be the New York City Hudson River flight rules , https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?pf=1&preview=true&cID=79 To be discussed later.

Paul,

Thank you for being pro-active for our pilots. Excellent idea, my friend.

As I look at my route, I have become aware of the increased airspace congestion as I go east. And also, the greater number of restricted airspace areas that seem to pop up. Everyone - - study your routes, and also a zone to the right and left since flight following may ask you to divert on occasion. A fun trip, regardless !!

Separately, I will start a thread in August so we can share RON locations and routes. Who knows? I might spring for breakfast!
