Eisenhauer Presidential Library and Museum D-Day Commemoration

Fly in to Abilene, KS Airport, K78 on Saturday, June 6th for a memorable visit to the Eisenhauer Presidential Library, Museum, and boyhood home. I suggest that you arrive by about 11 am. so you can spend the afternoon going through the exhibits and visiting the Chappell where he and Mamie are at rest. There will be plenty of food trucks on site for your convenience. Admission to the Museum on this annual D-Day commemoration is free. There will be a sunset concert by the Salina Symphony...

Linda and I have changed our plans. We intend to arrive Friday evening and stay at the Super 8. We will depart Abilene right after the concert. There is a bonus at this event. We saw these 20 documents at the Truman Library and Museum in Kansas City a couple of weeks ago. They are well worth your time to view. Here is my wife's description she put on Facebook:
The Eisenhower museum in Abilene Kansas has a temporary exhibit (until July 5) of many of the original documents that shaped our nation's history. Over 20 documents are on tour from the National Archives, including the Louisiana purchase, the Treaty of Paris, Brown vs Board of Education. A visit to the display & to the Eisenhower museum is an awesome way to celebrate the 250th birthday of the USA

Imagine standing just feet away from the documents that shaped the United States.
The Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene, Kansas, is currently displaying an extraordinary collection of National Archives treasures, including the Louisiana Purchase, the Treaty of Paris, the Bill of Rights, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, and many more.
These historic documents helped establish American independence, expand the nation, protect individual rights, and influence the course of U.S. history.
The exhibit is open through July 5, with free museum admission on June 6 and July 4.
For history lovers, this is a rare opportunity to see some of America's most important documents in person.
