Eisenhauer Presidential Library and Museum D-Day Commemoration

Fly in to Abilene, KS Airport, K78 on Saturday, June 6th for a memorable visit to the Eisenhauer Presidential Library, Museum, and boyhood home. I suggest that you arrive by about 11 am. so you can spend the afternoon going through the exhibits and visiting the Chappell where he and Mamie are at rest. There will be plenty of food trucks on site for your convenience. Admission to the Museum on th wis annual D-Day commemoration is free. There will be a sunset concert by the Salina Symphony. There will be on display at the Library during the day of the original documents of the Louisiana Purchase, Brown vs. Board of Education, and Kansas Nebraska Act as well as the Korean War Armistice agreement.

Here is a schedule of the evening concert events:

• 5:30 p.m. – Musical performance by Everyday Lights
• 7:00 p.m. – Concert by Fort Riley's 1st Infantry Division Band
• 8:30 p.m. – Salina Symphony performance

Bring lawn chairs and a blanket if needed. Seating is not provided. The airport has 2 courtesy cars. Since the concert ends late in the evening Linda and I have secured a room at the Diamond Hotel. They also have a Holiday Inn and a Super 8. If you would like a hotel room, make your own reservations.
Linda and I have attended this event twice and it is always a patriotic and moving event. Please post a response to this in the forums if you are coming.
