Doug and Michele's Airport Cafe - Urbana, OH (I74) - Saturday, September 16, 2017

They also have two free museums. One is of aircraft lighting, really just a hanger with a bunch of lights with the Wheelen test plane. The other one, however, is worth the visit. If you are lucky the 91+ old veteran B-17 chief engineer will be there. He was stationed at Jimmy Stewart's base in England and has a picture with him after they landed after losing the nose gear to German anti-aircraft. I am sorry I have to miss this fly-in.

Museum link is http://www.champaignaviationmuseum.org/ and it looks like there is a Beech Model 18 there.

Sorry to hear you will not be able to make it Joe. Thanks for the information. I'm sure some of our members will want to check out the museums.

Busy September: Excel-Air in Rensselaer IN is also hosting on Saturday for all us Grumman drivers.

Wish I could join you guys over in Urbana: the trip is great fun (especially flying by Wright Pat and over Huffman field).

A little fog in the morning burned off just in time for our fly-in. We had seven attendees. There were five member aircraft on the field. We had two Sierras, one Sundowner, a Musketeer, and a Piper Cherokee 140.

Pictured are: Doug Allen, Zack and Mame Dillion, Brad Mitchell, John Redmon, Mary and Larry Newland.
