Airport Cafe - Urbana, OH (I74) - Saturday - August 30, 2025

Fly into Grimes Field and join us at the Airport Cafe for lunch. Arrive by 11:00am EDT. They have an outside dining area. Great viewing area to watch airplanes take off and land. They have great pies. Which I can personally vouch for. Place an order when you arrive and take one home.

Sorry John, I'm 0-2. Last fly-in i couldn't land because no radio and tomorrow I will be in Put-In-Bay. I appreciate you scheduling these and I promise I will make more.

The kids have sports and our airplane is currently in pieces for annual, so unfortunately we won’t be able to make it. Bummer since i74 is one of our favorites stops.

We are however having a fly-in & cookout at our home airport on September 6th. Fuel will be discounted $1.00 during business hours. My wife is hosting the kids activities. Our hanger will be open if anyone wants to stop by.

What a beautiful day to fly. We had a great turn out today. Six attendees with one Musketeer, one Sundowner, and two Sierras on the field. I was able to catch up with Mark Kendall who I have not seen since Portsmouth, OH (KPMH) in November 2021. To my surprise I recognized one of the Sierras taxiing in. It was John Turchi’s old Sierra. It is now owned by Chris Bock. Who I have not met before. Always nice to meet BAC members for the first time. We all had a great lunch. Mark and Marilyn Kendall checked out the Champaign Aviation Museum located on the field. Mark texted me this evening. He reported it was very nice. It has a lot of memorabilia as well as a B-17 and a B-25. I took a lot of pictures. It was hard to choose. Here are a few.

Pictured are: Marilyn and Mark Kendall, Pat Jeski, Chris Bock, and Bob Trader.

Looks like everyone had a great time. It's good to see folks flying and showing off their airplanes to others in the East-Central Region. Well done John Redmon on another successful fly-in!
