Breakvast At Beverly MA

Hey folks, it's too short notice to qualify for PT Points, but Bob Brown and I are meeting for breakfast at Beverly Airport (BVY).
Be a great "Pop-Up" event.

The restaurant is right by the Tower. Decent place, unpretentious...just like us.

Come watch the weather change! Come see the "Weather Maker" at work.

Ah, my Regional Director friend S. Cote.
We have to coax the day and time out of you.

There are three BAC planes at Beverly, Massachusetts. I will fly mine up from Mansfield, Massachusetts to be sure that you actually can find the place.

Here's an offer: Meet me at Mansfield Municipal Airport (1B9 - halfway between Providence RI and Boston) and I will lead you into the Boston Class B and over Fenway Park at 1500' and then up to Beverly (BVY). I will attempt to do this legally with ATC approval. If not, I will be the one with the transponder turned off.

Tom Corcoran

Meet me about 9am. An email will get me to wait for you.

Tom Corcoran

Is that The Pirate Tom Corcoran, offering to fly the Jolly Roger thru Boston?

Bob

This is why a wise goose flys with a "V" of other geese behind him.

Most hunters don't know how to lead and pick off the ones behind!

See you at 9 at Mansfield.

Naw, we're gonna dress like Indians and throw tea into the harbor as we fly by!

"Save the Bales" Ah, never mind! Y'all might not remember that one.

Well, hell! Maybe I'll fly down there and join in the merriment!

As far as I know, I am not wanted in Boston, both figuratively and literally. However, I have a long history of easing around and through dense airspace under adverse circumstances. It will be a proud moment to stand among such talent as y'all Injuns.

So, I wonder, if you both dress like Indians, how will anyone know which of you is which?

I sent an email off to MarkVIII from Hanscom to let him know about the doings as well as Ed Townsend, he's based at BVY on the west side. One day, maybe he'll be like the Jefferson's and Moving on Up to the East Side

(don't let on to Corcoran that the locals lost :P )

If we can line up 5 or more members, ACORN will show up and hold a voter registration for us--not quite the same as going through US Customs but they guarantee your entry, many times over and offer a spiff for frequent flyers

Rain Day?

Hey Ken, run it by Steve Cote, he's the coordinator. You can post the idea on the thread on this site.

It's Ok with me though! Sunday is good.

Bob

Ken,
I think we will be racing the rain as it is on Saturday. Sunday is forecast for continuous rain.
(Sigh)

Tom is going as "Mouse Who Swims" and I will be "Rain In The Face"...what else?

OK, it's happening again. Westfield is under 1900 ceiling and we have already had rain. Forecast is accelerating. :x

So I am driving to Beverly, will plan on arrival at the restaurant at 1000. If you fly, keep an eye toward the freezing levels and winds this afternoon. If homefield is BVY, no excuses 8) (Got your stuff, Bob.)

All Righty then!
We snuck in an event, right under the noses of the weather gods. The Breakfast At Beverly came off.

We had 5 members (Tom Corcoran, Bob Brown, Mark Patachiola, Ed Townsend, myself) and two "co-owners" (Gail P. and Betsy B.)

And one actually flew in...18 miles from Hanscom Field. (Gee, Mark, did you even raise the flaps before you started descent at BVY??)

A Fine Fall Day for a Fly In, here and there

Greetings All,

We had an impromptu albeit modest BAC convention today at KBVY, a fine breakfast in a fairly decent cafe and warm comraderie, wish everyone could have been there. But, on short notice, we did pretty good.

I am grateful to Steve for hand delivering my very own copy of the latest BAC Magazine, an exceedingly generous and magnanimous act on his part as he ended driving from Springfield instead of flying. Thank you very much!

Marc Patachiola was the only member to fly in but Ed Townsend and I are both on the field at Beverly already. Tom Corcoran had a shorter trip to drive up than it was to drive to the airport and get his plane so Boston has been spared again--this will not last

It was a pleasure to meet each and all. As close as we are we can do this quarterly or as occassion provides.

Sure wish that Ken could have made it in, it was a decent day for low flying the foliage display between his base and KBVY but duty called--see you the next time?

In sum, we had Steve Cote, Tom Corcoran, Bob Brown & Betsy, Ed Townsend, and Marc & Gail Patachiola. It was a good day.

Well, look at that! Commander Cote beat me to it and posted already. Somebody put up the pics, we are certainly internet worthy and near as I could tell, everyone had a reflection this morning!

Bob

Wish I was there, but as par for the course, I'm flying paying for the house, and family!!! Steve promise I'll be there for the next one, if its on my off week!!!!

Beverly, Massachusetts

Mike,

I have the pix.

Isn't that enough explanation of why they are still in the camera and not on the BAC site?

Now, where the hell did I leave the camera?

Nick,
No problem. Give me your dispatcher's number. With my impeccable interpersonal skills I am sure I can get you off.
Getting you a new job...well, that'll be harder.

(Besides, you expect sympathy because someone pays you to fly?? )

Where is the camera? Did you check in the evidence locker?

Turned out to be a nice day for flying up here, after all.
