BACFest Arrivals

The BAC fly-out to Tullahoma from BACFest has officially been canceled due to weather. It is raining very steadily in Sevierville at this time with low ceiling and expected to worsen before it gets better.

So, attendees will hit the local air museum and other venues to spend the day.

Great group for a delicious dinner at Damon's BBQ last night. Reception and munchies this evening so come on over the Sevierville....just be prepared to make the drive not the flight!

I arrived a few minutes ago. Rain all the way from Indianapolis to Sevierville. Now I just need to find where everyone is at. I will probably head to the airport after something to eat. See you all this evening.

We have 44 people in town now with a few more enroute via automobile! Kudos to all those that have persevered to make the trek to Gatlinburg. We'll have more cars in the parking lot than planes on the ramp, but a good time is being had by all.

Unfortunately the trip to Tullahoma cancelled, but we had a nice tour of the Warbirds Museum at KGKT. 18 of us had lunch at The Chop House while most of the women broused the 176 outlet stores in the mall!

Reception tonight and looking to crack the 50 mark tomorrow as more arrivals make it in.

It wouldn't be a BAC fly-in without a little weather!

Hey...did you all see the front page of USA today? Here is a link.

The reason is a special friend of BAC is prominently mentioned and quoted. Gene Nora Jensen recalls her time as one of the female pilots involved in the astronaut testing of the early space days. Also mentioned is her latest book, The Fablous Flight of the Three Musketeers. Recall she was one of the original demonstration pilots when the brand new Musketeer toured the country. She autographed my copy and posed for a snapshot at BAC picnic at the Last's lawn at Oshkosh last summer. (thx again for the hospitality!!) She is as delight, and the book is outstanding. If she is in the house, as expected I believe at BACFest this year, do yoursellf a favor and shake her hand and get a picture and a copy of the book. Have a great event
