WOW!!!! We need more Baby Beech owners to come to this! Isn't anybody going to OshKosh this year? I cannot possibly eat all the delicious food myself!!! C'mon, take the plunge and plan a trip to the Fly-in and come out to meet everyone on Tuesday for a great lunch and airshow!!!

Where are our local pilots/Owners??? Let's go guys, you make this a success!!!

Sam

Mark will be coming, but sadly, not until Friday of that week so he will miss seeing you guys. That's the only time his schedule would allow. Have a great time!

I will be motor homing it during Oshkosh. I wish I could attend. I thought I would give a Pirep on the picnic. In addition to excellent food, the friendships and the location during the airshow, You feel like your in it rather than watching it. You can almost touch the performers. Anyone who has the time but doesn't attend is really missing out. I took a guest and he still speaks of the picnic as one of his Oshkosh highlights.

Thanks to all of you giving positive feedback. Since I am not hosting, I can also plug the picnic as the highlight of the week - and the price is right!!!!

Remember, we are on the 'other' side of the airshow runway from the AirVenture attendees. That means all the show planes turn OUR way to avoid the big crowds. We've had the Harrier at full power directly overhead, as well as the Airbus 380 directly above. The taxiway is also on our side of the runway, so we get a close-up of the showplanes and pilots, too. We get probably more waves from the performers than all the rest of AirVenture!

This is the last call for the picnic. Officially, I wanted the checks by today, but I can handle a few last-minute reservations. If you plan on attending, let me know here and get your check in the mail ASAP!!!! We are fine-tuning the attendance with the caterer on Tuesday AM.

Bob -

I will be there. Check going in the mail today.

I plan on one guest but may have to convince another Cessna driver that he can safely attend...

OK, folks - the last update and info on the picnic.

The shuttle pickup gate is the same gate as the seaplane base shuttle bus pickup gate. Ask to go there if you are lost. The gate used to be numbered E01, but it seems they don't have gate numbers any more, at least on the new map, downloadable at
http://airventure.org/images/av11_visitormap.jpg.
It should be on or near the Ripple Road and Whittman Road Intersection. The map is not really clear. The shuttle runs on Whittman Road and they should announce the Seaplane Base stop.

There will be a number posted at the gate to call for the shuttle. It may take 10 or so minutes for the shuttle to arrive. If it's the same lady at the gate as last year, she knows the drill. The shuttle will be available starting at 12:30, catering will start around 2:30 and last until the food is gone!

My cell in case you need it, is 414-397-8215. If you have trouble finding the gate, call me. I will try to get GPS coordinates for the gate if that will help.

If you are driving, Larry's address is 3827 Red Oak Court. There should be plenty of parking available.

I have spent the last two nights in Oshkosh and I can tell you the place is already abuzz!!!! I came home today so that I can crew a CJ6 Nanchang tomorrow and fly to Oshkosh in it (can you say PT points?)

I am already going through withdrawals just tonite not being there.... :)

Bob, I have a couple of last minute guests, The Nanchang owner (Charlie) and our own Kurt Stanich wishes to attend as well......hope that's OK!! Let me know by calling my cell as I am off to the north again tomorrow and will not be on a computer until Monday the 1st of August.

See everyone there!!!!

Whatever your means of travel, be safe!!!

Sam

O.K. So where are the pictures of the BAC picnic at Oshkosh? Would like to see them. I could not make it to the picnic, but did get there for Friday and Saturday. I thought some of you might like to see a video of the night time airshow. Here's the link: http://www.eaavideo.org/video.aspx?v=1103012503001 Towards the end of the show you will see a jet car race down the runway. They set off a long explosion as he goes by.

OK, I've got a few, but hopefully someone else can load some as well. I'll try to do it in the next day or so.
