One week from today we'll arrive EAA after our 1400nm journey. It's always a challenge and thrill after our arrival. I'm wishing I was enroute now. I'd be on-top with a 14 kt tailwind.![]()

For those who fly to Oshkosh, you already know to bring suitable tiedown. But consider another small thing. The year I went I brought 3 small plywood pieces, about the size of shoebox covers. I put those under my wheels after I arrived and parked on the grass. That way the wheels did not settle into the grass while I was parked. For departure, I just pulled with the tow bar forward enough to come of the plywood and actually gave them away to a guy who had just pulled in next to me. The theory of course is otherwise the airplane will be hard to pull out of the depression you will make, or worse, you will have to use lots of power to break out of the depressions. Ugh. Perhaps you will see this in action. Never pretty. Looking forward to seeing all members and guests, thx to Bob and team for setting it up. Yes, the Last house events were epic. Remember seeing and hearing the A-380 arrive? And the corn on the cob and meals were awesome. See you all soon. And if not this year, the EAA website has the webcams and ATC audio active already and it is fun to check them out.
no, you are correct. We would most likely need a pump at the tank to avoid any vapor lock issues.I heard the mo gas STC was tried and the mice (sundowner?) failed because of a vapor lock issue at altitude due to our somewhat unique fuel system. Hope I am wrong!
