Well, dang, people! Ain't sumbuddy gonna skedjule a BAC Fly-In sumwhar, before we have our'n 34A Hop-In on March 22??!! Time's a'wastin!

Jesup ga. JES would be a great place to hold a flyin. It has the cheapest gas around about 3.70 per gallon and 3500' runway . The FBO is one of the nicest around. A great little seafood resturant is close by. It is close to the Golden Isles, St Simons, Jekyll Island If this sounds interesting to anyone let me know and I will get with the FBO and plan this flyin.
 Thanks Trae McElwaney

Bet Monty and I would make it to Jesup! Only 177 NM south of us. Can you try to work it around the commitments we already have, as shown on the 34A Work Schedule (under Technical)?

Hopin' to make it to Wilgrove on February 9th, flying Wingman to the Spencer Sundowner, and with the SkyeMaster flying right seat! The Co-pilot says he needs at least a 1,000 AGL ceiling this time, though.

Don't think I can make it to PEI this year, though, despite the disappointment of missing the 2008 bovine entertainment. Not to mention the free parking lot Internet access. Of course, what I will miss most of all is the wonderful hospitality shown by Margie and Tom Corcoran. Hopefully some other USA and Canadian members can make the fun trek across the mini-pond. Lobster at The Suppers should not be missed.

Paula is already talking about flying up to the Pacific Northwest again in Sunny Beech, to join an Alaskan cruise; followed by a flight down to Santa Maria for BAC Fest 2008. And this is AFTER a trip to Bermuda (commercial, dammit), and BEFORE the flight BAC to Gaston's.... Talk about going broke. The wallet, not Sunny B....

Winter at Wilgrove.. FEbruary 9
BBQ sanwiches free to BAC members.
Wilgrove is 8A6, Just EAST of Charlotte. VMC only.
Just ask Mike and Spencer... How low can you go ?
We'll be inside if it's cold.
Plan to eat 11-1. Just never know about the weather in Feb.

Canada Fly-In

Mike,

You've given me a reason to mention a BAC cross-country at Prince Edward Island on July 5th. It was posted a while ago.

It even includes (Brookfield) a farm grass strip you and I were at... cows and all.

ATTENTION all those in the Southeast!

Start coming up with ideas for events, food gatherings, EAA fund raisers, or just "hangar talk" gatherings to share ideas. I want us, the largest membership region of BAC, to have a very active year. I NEED your help to make it successful. If you have any questions about hosting an event or wanting to put something on the calendar then don't be shy, email me at doug.muse at gmail.com.

Mike,

Is there room in your Sunny Beech or Monty's Sundowner for an extra passenger? Since I don't have my own Beech yet I would like to hitch a ride to the Feb 9 event. Btw, thanks again for the demo ride.

Would love to be there Dr. Bill. I am in the process of moving back to Georgia from Florida. This weekend will be driving a u-haul instead of a Beech. :(

BAC To Barnes

OK, guys, I get the message. Just posted our annual BAC To Barnes...
or Walkabout To Westfield...or Perigrination To Pioneer Valley (Stop! Must get control...errg!)

April 12th at BAF, Westfield, MA

Got a new restaurant on field, open yesterday. And there is still a price war between the two FBO's on gas.

And, yes, the Middle Marker is still lonely and unused out there since the FAA stopped paying the electric bill.

Weather for Wilgrove looks GREAT except for the wind. Expected 10-20mph from the SW. One thing about Wilgrove is that we SHOULD be landing to the SOUTH which makes the touchdown point sheltered by the treeline. Hence it's east to hold the crab until you get below the tree line then the side winds go away a lot.
All thing are GO for the FLY-IN.
Hope to see some of you here.

I doubt that I will be able to make this first one. I've got a ton of things to do, first I've got 4 tests (last 4 of 6, next week is the last full week, and finals the week after that, and then testing in March...and I'm done (2 and a half years, has it been really that long???) next week to study for, and two projects due. Plus I've got a new addition to the house hold, so I've got babysitting to do, rather make that puppy sitting, along with the wife....so I'll just have to say...I will miss being there, and will make the next one....Hope it goes well....

Good Day!
I met a gentleman today that is located at Jekyll Island, GA- 09J and runs the FBO there. He is mentoring the youinger generation,by offering free flight training in his Musketeer Sport. At this time, he is also on a mission to keep this airport in service. He says that the more visitors that fly in to and visit this airport, the more support there will be to keep the airport open. I spoke with him about the Beech Aero Club, and discussed possibly holding a fly-in to this airport. Jekyll Island, GA has a lot to offer, beautiful beaches, golf course, and several nice restaurants. This gentleman was interested in this happening and even offered to possibly have electric carts available to those who fly in. Also FYI: anyone who just stops in to visit at any time, there is usually a cart available to go about the Island. I think this gentleman is doing a great service to the future of aviation, by giving the free training to young people and also fighting to keep his airport in service. Thanks, Trae Mc. :)

Trae that is AWESOME! Please send me a private message with his contact information and I will get in touch to get something planned. With SSI so close it pulls traffic away but Jekyll Island is a great place.

Thanks,
Doug

Fly-In HEF March 29?

To all BAC members and little Beech owners, We are trying to set up a flyin at Manassas Regional Airport (HEF) on the 29th of March. Our FBO, NextFlight will support us and the new restaurant will be open. Interested folks will have to file a flight plan to enter the "ADIZ" to get into and out of Manassas. Not hard to do and the ATC folks are very helpful. Looking for comments and support.

Jekyll Island is a very nice place. No cars on the island but you can rent electric cars there I think they call them Red Bugs or some such. The Island has many hotels large and small, fishing area but arrive with enough fuel to get off the island and top off inland. No gas on the island. I have not flown into the airport but was checking the web sites about it and do plan to go as often as I can. I live in Greenville, SC and any reason to fly to the coast will do. I fly a Skipper.
