Thats a good point about Jekyll not having any fuel. In a pinch you can go to Saint Simons Isl. or Glynco both are within 5 minutes of Jekyll Isl. But I would plan on going to JES Jesup Ga. to get fuel the price is $3.65 a gallon vs $5.00 at Glynco. Its about 15 to 20 minutes or 30 Miles.

Hop on over to 34A tomorrow, Saturday March 21! I'm almost afraid to say this; but it looks like perfect weather for Saturday's event. I have stocked up the goodies, and all is ready to go.
Looks like we should have one or more of almost every type of BAC aircraft here tomorrow; Duchess, Skipper, Super, Musketeer, Sundowner, and Sierra. We might even have two Duchesses here at once! Looking forward to a great time! We already have Mark Jones here from the Florida panhandle, along with Kenny Cook (from Connecticut!) with his friend.

What a day at 34A! At least eleven BAC aircraft plus a member rental 152 and a Comanche! Would you believe the Harold Bost Baron, Philippe Davy and Craig Tankersly Duchesses, Dan Taylor Skipper, and a great representation of Sundowners, Sierras, and Musketeers. We were missing only a Super to sweep the field.
Half a dozen members took advantage of their fix-up option; trim settings, etc. We cooked many pounds of dawgs, sausages, burgers, tater cakes, slaw and tater salad, pecan pie, giant CC cookie, relish tray, chips, nuts, drinks, etc. etc. Would you believe fuel for $3.89 per gallon, cash or credit?! Jim white pumped more than 400 gallons today. Certainly helped some folks reduce the cost of the visit.
One stranded Sierra still on jacks in the hangar. It's owner has a very sharp eye, and identified a suspected crack in the lower drag link on the nose gear. He was all too correct. Undoubtedly just saved himself a nose gear collapse, and no doubt a ruined vacation trip in April. The crack extends almost halfway through one side of the lower link ears. So the parts search begins on Monday.
Seven members won door prizes. In addition to the Rellihan and Spencer clans (complete with the pups Sunny Skye and Shandy Beech), participants included:

Total of twenty fly-in participants and guests, plus great FBO friend Jim White. Jim arrived at 0830, and stayed until dark to make sure everyone got whatever they needed.
I sure hope that a great time was had by all. Photos will be posted as soon as they arrive from Monty.
And last but far from least, Monty passed his FAA Written, plus Oral and Practical exams, this past Thursday. He is now a full-fledged A&P, and deservedly proud of it!
