2018 BAC picnic at Oshkosh AirVenture

A few final reminders for tomorrow’s BAC picnic. Please bring chairs if you have them or a blanket. You can arrive as early as 11:00am CDT for meet and greet. At 12:00 noon CDT lunch should be ready. Please remember to sign in when you arrive. There will be a group photo taken before everyone leaves. See you all tomorrow!

I am stuck at the Ford Trimotor waiting for a ride - won't be able to make it over. I hate that. Will come by later after this flight.

Bob S. and John R.,

As usual, a great picnic for a great turnout! Thanks again for the hard work and the opportunity to meet new and old friends.

I don't know the final attendance, but it was very good. All had a great time getting to know new friends and renewing old friendships. Thanks so much to Bob Schmidt and John Redmon for making this possible!

Chef John Redmon doing his magic. The hambergers and brats were great.

My browser cuts off the people to Jeff Knight's left in the picture above. However, by clicking on the picture, you can see the rest of those attending.

Despite not everyone showing up who RSVP'd (44). We had another consecutive record breaker for the BAC picnic in Paul's Woods at Bob Schmidt's campsite. We had 37 attendees this year. We had 29 last year. As promised we did not run out of food or drinks this year. A special thanks to Mark Anderson for allowing us to use his portable gas grill. Even with two grills we were busy trying to keep up with the demand for hamburgers and brats. We were fortunate to have cooler weather. I also want to thank Bob Schmidt for hosting the BAC picnic at his campsite. I hope everyone had a safe trip home. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

Here is the list of attendees: Bob Schmidt, Bob, Andrew, and David Prange, John Foster, Ralph Yenne, Mark and Lisa Anderson, Jeff Knight, Lee Cole, Greg and Stuart Lundstedt, Nielsen family: Mike, Linda, Amy, Lauryn, Ella, John, Jacob, and Andrew. Bryan Sharp, Fred and Lisa Hannon, James and Lillian Brocksmith, David Vance, John, Katrina, Ryan, and Will Filipowilz, Eric and Jennifer Stoltz, Brian and Nadine Behrend, Ed Jarosz, Kevin Eaton, John Redmon

It was great to finally meet some fellow BACers in person! Great food too! Very special thanks to Bob Prange for giving me the heads up about the picnic, I had somehow managed to miss this thread despite looking for Oshkosh info on Tapatalk... now to hopefully make Oshkosh and BACfest next year!

Picture is of 2309Q parked at the fuel pumps at Detroit Lakes MN on the way back from OSH, the P-51 and Spitfire were also headed back to Minot, just coincidentally stopped same airport same time on the way back. The Mustang won warbird grand champion this year.
