1st Annual BAC to Kobelt NY Wheels and Wings (SEP 29)

Well it looks like I'm going to scrub this flight - can't get the ground clearance over the ridge I need... Definitely need to get that IR...
:)

Scott

Doesn't look like I'll be attending either...don't feel like low Scud running today, although forecast for later this afternoon might be better

Well they had a good turnout - even with bad weather... About 100 cars but no planes other than the locals...

There was a similar situation at my home airport today. (Mansfield, Massachusetts Municipal 1B9)

There was an open house 9-2 with old cars.

It was so wet no old cars showed up.

We dragged out about 30 planes and less than a hundred people came to look.

Some of the pilots there hadn't seen each other for over a year. Got to do a lot of hangar talking. One guy is ready to buy a Sundowner.

No one was flying anyway so starting the engine and taxiing a quarter mile was the substitute.

Mansfield is about 150 miles east of Kobelt.

Thanks for putting the fly-in together Scott Brunner.

Thanks guys - final shot of the day - Mike - Dawn - and - their fine Sierra... The Rotary Club deemed the event a huge success... They are already talking about next year... The car guys loved it - the food was excellent (pulled pork for me) - the band was darn good - the skydivers jumped in - and - good times were had by all... We were invited back for next year - and - they are already making plans for a bigger event...
