Wings and Wheels-- August 11, 2018

Touring the Galaxy
Cliff Weaver and Circle W Restorations is having a Wings and Wheels event to benefit a local veterans' charity. It is scheduled for August 11, 2018, with a rain date the following day.

Everything is being donated, down to the avgas for the planes. Every penny goes to the veterans.

Cliff has a very nicely maintained grass strip, but I don't think it will be available for transient traffic on the day of the show, except by prior coordination. To generate funds and raise interest in GA, Cliff will be offering airplane rides. PA72 is only 5 miles west of the York, PA airport (KTHV). If we have transient traffic interested in attending, I'm sure I can arrange transfers between KTHV and the show. Just let me know.

Cliff is currently painting 08L. I am really enjoying the opportunity to watch a craftsman at work. Something something I could watch it for hours. Cliff does aircraft, cars and motorcycles, and has spent his life in aviation.

I hope BAC can attend. Please feel free to share this flyer with everyone.

The Wings and Wheels event to benefit veterans' organization is set for next Saturday. It looks like the weather will be good.

Circle W airport will not be open to the general public, since they will have airplane rides and parachute jumping. But York airport KTHV is only a few miles east.

If you would like to fly to this event, PM me. I will be there early. I will be able to get away to pick up BAC members from KTHV and take them to the show. I will PM you back with my phone number so you can call me when you land.

Oh, and this will also be Sunny's coming out party. You can see the quality paint job Cliff and his crew do.

Despite the forecast, the weather was beautiful. The day began with Cliff jumping with Old Glory. It was a perfect jump, with a perfect landing. There was an exhibition of custom cars and airplanes, many of which were painted at Circle W Restorations. It was Sunny's coming out party, too. It was a great crowd, and a great day to benefit our vets.

Cliff did the Navion, and his artist painted the pilot's wife on the nose art.
