Flight Levels
It's not too soon to start practicing your catching ability! The throwed rolls at Lambert's are coming BAC's way. On Saturday, September 11, join fellow BACers for a lunchtime fly-in. Lambert's is located a short distance from the field and they send a van to pick us up. Pilots and their guests get preferred seating, i.e. NO WAITING!!! Free lunch for all BAC members and their guests.

Check out their website: www.throwedrolls.com Here's an excerpt from the menu:
We provide "pass arounds" at no charge to those ordering from the menu. These "extras" are brought to you by servers carrying pots or other containers of fried okra, fried potatoes, macaroni and tomatoes, black eyed peas, and sorghum and honey. Our "Pass Arounds" are now offered as an entree themselves due to popular demand.

Plan to meet at the airport by 11:45 (Central time zone) and we'll plan on a noon pickup. Any questions, please call me on my cell, 859-707-6039. Brad Mitchell

Wish I could make it! I will be coming back from Hawaii that day then heading to Switzerland the next day. I LOVE Lambert's!!!! Awesome food!

Hoping to make it up weather permitting...... only 25 minutes from DYR. To round out the weekend there is also an airshow at Arnold Field (M31) 60 nm south of SIK on Saturday & Sunday featuring a B-17 Yankee Lady, P-51s AT-11s and others. Info at http://www.dyaab.us/airshow2010.htm

Just watched the local TV weather and it looks like we might just catch a break late Saturday morning with the rain moving out. We're due a BAC break in the weather! :)

Not sure we'll make it out as the big cold front will be directly parallel to our flight at about the time we'll have to leave... we'll see.

Early morning low ceilings and scattered showers finally gave way. Eddie & Jax Smith joined Ann and me in Sikeston. We caught enough throwed rolls for those unable to make it. Even the controller in Memphis Center asked me to catch one for him as we cancelled with him!

One of these days, we'll have perfect weather leading up to and extending through a BAC fly-in. Until then, at least it confirms getting my instrument ticket was money well spent. :)

Being from New England all my life I simply can not imagine the pleasure (if any) of eating Fried okra.
If it's like grits I'll stay close to Boston for the baked beans and fried clams!

Heretic!!

Fried clams ain't bad, most baked beans are nauseating.
Grits are right next to ambrosia, and correctly fried okra is better than popcorn.

Wow, if you haven't been to Lamberts you have to go! Thanks to Brad for putting this together. I have lost 75lbs since the Bahamas at the first of the year, but today was a set back. Too good to resist. Ann, thanks for running the sugar rush off of Jax he slept most of the way to Oklahoma.

TC, here in the south, if the food's not deep fried, it's smothered in gravy! Then we wash it all down with moonshine or bourbon! :)
