THIS WEEKEND is BAC DAY

Hopefully, if the vfr gods cooperate, we have a 6 hour round-trip to Ocracoke planned for the 22nd.

No luck going south, weather just not good all day. Going north, however, was another story.... 7 hours flying and 985 miles round trip to Osh Kosh with a stop in Kenosha for beer and cheese to bring home and a fly by Chicago.

PS: been home a few hours now so I can give a beer report: bought Spotted Cow; Moon Man; and Two Woman. Spotted Cow is great, Moon Man is a good but typical IPA, Two Woman, however, may be my favorite beer ever. With fuel cost this is the most expensive beer I ever bought but worth every dollar.

Since this was for the 22 and 23, I got some more flying time in today. Not a BAC plane, but a friend and CFI gave me instruction in a Legend Cub today.

N24TD flew an out-and-back to Lee's Summit, KLXT for a PilotsNPaws mission. What was initially posted as a pregnant mama dog going to rescue, changed on Wednesday to a mama dog with 9 pups! Uneventful day of flying with a beautiful family!

CB

P.S. I was planning to work on my penmanship to include Mark Weiss's tail number on the outbound leg, so he could join us in spirit. Unfortunately I just didn't have enough time to make it happen due to the multi-leg flight schedule.

I did some breakfast on 8/22 N47 to N40 Sky Manor... Here are the flightaware tracks...and the breakfast I enjoyed...

Interestingly, Flightaware does not show me crossing the Delaware River into NJ to land at N40..

Leili took the Sierra up for a couple of circuits, while I rested my back in the hangar having just finished waxing it for her. (Now what's wrong with that picture?).

A quick flight only, Leili had to contend with nearby storms.

Cold, clear and a million. Taking to the skies for BAC fly day in Cold Lake, AB with my trusty co-pilot Florence. 1.9hr tour of two Provinces, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Great day to fly!

Wow Peter . You are actually a nice guy. :) . I will be just south of Lake Ontario (Rochester/Buffalo ) golfing the next couple of days . Look forward to seeing You , Leili and the Sierra when this pandemic passes.

I managed to get off the ground today. Crossed an item off my bucket list...flew to Catalina. On the way back I got to play in the LAX SFRA and fly directly over the runways at 4500 ft.

And, another first for me. When I got back to KWJF, there was another plane landing. I was sequenced behind another Sundowner! Talked to the owner and his SO for a couple of minutes after we taxi'd to parking. Seemed like a great couple, recently got their SD. He was aware of BAC and said he's spent a lot of time on the forum, not posting much.

So anyway, you can count two more mice flying this weekend. N6633R and N9179S

Nice!

I think ex-owner of my plane was a Pilots and Paws pilot too.

Here on Monday in the US Eastern Time Zone the BAC Day event closed about an hour ago.
We'll wait until Wednesday for the final reports to come in.

Right now the following members have posted BAC Day flights:

lombard, wjknight, pwf, SkyPilot, Tibs, JOHNNYXRAY, CleoBen, ewoodcox, ZaSz, mbuddle, JoeKirby,
jharva, maxmason, sierra0th, sjcote, DF14w, ken, corcoran, cmmguy, tortugaboats

I taxied from the hangar to Charlie intersection on RW15. Had a problem and was towed back.

Is it loggable? The a/c moved under its own power for the purposes of flight. I say yes!

N2307Q was up for 0.5 and 1 landing. Hit 145 MPH across the ground on the way bac to the field.

My first sky writing came out better than I imagined. I can't figure out how to make the tracks show during flight in Garmin Pilot so I was just using pilotage.

Add me to list Tom. My weekend to work so I wasn't sure I would get a flight in. Late in the evening I was finally able to make a short flight. Circled my Dad's house and then headed back to Indy Regional.

With most of the sky inundated by the smoke from fires in California, Nevada, Utah and here in Colorado there wasn't much to see (in the land of "to fly I need to be able to see").

IMG_4722.jpg IMG_4723.jpg

No I was not flying upside down, just grabbed the camera wrong while flying.
