It’s December and it is time for our annual fly-in at Sporty’s! Come help Santa decide what he needs to bring you for Christmas. Sporty’s serves up free hot dogs, brats, and metts every Saturday from noon to 2:00pm EST.  Join us on Saturday December 10th to browse the store and pick up those last minute “must haves”. If you haven’t received a catalog lately, check out the website. For those that are interested the Tri-State Warbird Museum is also located on the field. The museum is located on the opposite side of the field from Sporty’s.

Parking is right in front of the store and the employees will help guide you.

Looks like we have a chance of rain tomorrow.   If I can't fly, I will drive over.  I will be at Sporty's either way.  This will be our last fly-in for the East Central Region for 2022.  Next fly-in will be sometime in May 2023.  I enjoy checking out the pilot supplies firsthand.  I hope to see some of there.

As mentioned in the previous post I and the other attendees drove to Sporty's today.  We had three attendees in all, Brad Mitchell, Gary Embrey, and John Redmon.  My airport Indy Regional (KMQJ) was reporting 500 and 3.  Clermont County (I69) was reporting 700 and 7.  Below my personal minimums.  I prefer a 1,000' ceiling with improving conditions.  Later in the day Clermont County did improve to 1900 and 10.  My home airport had very little improvement 700 and 5.  Lot of catching up with Brad.  We discussed BACFest 2022 and upcoming BACFest 2023.  Gary, I'm glad you were able to make it today.  This was our last fly-in for 2022.  Next fly-in will be sometime in May.

Thanks John for scheduling all your fly-ins during the year.  Always a great time catching up and particularly enjoyed talking with Gary and the 3 of us sharing several of our flying experiences.  We are always learning from our fellow pilots!

Merry Christmas to all.

Brad
