Sedona AZ Fly-in/RON

My family actually went to Sedona just a few months ago. It was my first time there, and we didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked, so I do hope to make another trip back.

You might do better than 110 gallons considering the altitudes you will have to fly to get to Sedona.

I usually can lean to around 8.2 gallons per hour in cruise at the altitudes that I need to be at to miss the smaller geological features around here. Around 10 per hour if i am rich of peak. I'm leaned at 12-13 per hour for take off on a cold day like today. Density altitude at KLAM as I write this is 8066 feet and it is 11 Celsius.

I hope we can find a day where people can get together in the south west.
 
I've gotta learn to lean it like Marty. I burn 16.5 gph on takeoff and climb and 12 gph at 75% cruise. I think Foreflight just used the 12 gph number.

i would sure love to make that flight someday.
 
Well, I cancelled Sedona with out clearing it through the senior event coordinator. I was informed she had made plans and we were going to go. So, we drove up. I know there are some that seriously doubt my martial status, so the following picture should put an end to some of the rumors.

I will admit the Beaujolais Nouveau wasn't the best this year. But we witnessed an awesome sundown!

I will also admit that I forgot to contact all of the members about the cancellation. So Mark Johnson arrived this morning for brunch. Per chance, he met another Sundowner owner and they flew to Sedona as a flight of two. So, there were two members make it to Sedona this weekend. Does that make it an official BAC fly-in?

The other Sundowner owner is Farrell Pettit and he too is based in Glendale, AZ. Farrell (standing next to the little guy) flew up with his brother Brant. I made my best pitch at brunch for joining the BAC, but we shall see. He made the mistake of giving me his e-mail, so I will be reminding him from time to time what a good thing it would be to join the BAC. I think I also convinced Mark and Dave Keiper to re-join the BAC.

While not the Sedona Fly-in I was hoping for, it was a good time for us and a great brunch.
