Rellihan Transportation Fund

Paul:

If we can co-ordinate it and you can fly Mike & Paula halfway, I can take the other half into Houston and back to wherever the next pilot can pick them up on the return trip.

All this scheming to avoid flying in a Baron!! Mike, do remember you are going to be one sore dude for a while after the surgery. I doubt you will find the climb into Sierra to be a lot of fun. Baron should be easier and more space too.

Either one will be better than riding home in a car. Might even feel like coming home a day or two earlier in the plane.

Getting someone to fly you down in a Sierra eases the pain on that end too

Chris,

What a great idea to help a member, who as you said has contributed so much to our group's success! You can count on me as well. Mike and Paula can also count on my prayers!

Mike

More cabin space in the Baron?

Mike R:
NOPE! The Sierra-Sundowner has a cabin that is 2" wider and 2" taller than any Baron or Bonanza! But Harold's Baron is a VERY nice airplane!

As you may have read, Mike's surgery has been indefinitely postponed.

Regarding the contributions collected for the transportation fund, the short term plan is to hold onto the money in case Mike's situation changes. If any individual contributor prefers otherwise, you may email our treasurer, Brad Mitchell, [email protected] and a refund will be made.

We will review the situation on an ongoing basis and if the funds have not been used by Oct. 1, 2009, a final determination will be made and a disposition plan will be offered to the contributors. But, remember, any donor can request a refund at any time.

Thank you all for responding to the cause. I know Mike and Paula are very appreciative.

All for one!
Chris L.

Mike R:

All for one is right! I remain at a loss for words at this idea, and the response to it. What a terrific group of people! Who would have ever thought something like this would take place, in some cases between people who have never even met.

Not sure where I'll be heading with the current scenario; I'll find out more on Monday March 23. But I suspect it will be renewed Chemo, probably of varying types over time, until it quits working or remission miraculously occurs. Guess we'll see. I would still like to pursue Cryo or RF on selected spots, while they are so small, but I'm not sure the local Oncologist and the insurance company would agree. MDA would not recommend it. Of course, my take is that if they had done the liver surgery in early January as my local guy expected, I would not have been off the Chemo for more than three months; and may not have had these new developments. Water over the dam. The lesson is that MDA may be a great place to start with; but if you go there as a referral, you are going to lose a lot of time while they start again from scratch.

At any rate, I'll undoubtedly lose my Medical when it expires in March 2010. Since I would be unable to pass it due to the cancer and related drugs, I will just have to let it expire. At least that way I'll still have the Light Sport option someday, if circumstances allow.

My sincere thanks again to all!
