Rellihan Transportation Fund

I'll definately support the cause with a check. Wish I could do more. Good luck Mike. I hope you get it taken care of this time rather than having to make another trip.

Ben

Mike, I wish you well. I'm sending in a little something too. Don't forget to list your return home as a BAC event so you can claim 1/2 PT points for the Baron flight.

Is there a possibility I could give a little something via paypal on the BAC site..Renew my membership and then add a little something. If I send a cheque by the time the international fees and the like come out it wont be worth the paper its written on. My aeroplane is flying because of a bloke I've never met personally on the other side of the world..He seriously deserves my support.

ment to but this is this thread

Any chance we can get a round trip flight now that Mike has to go back. I would be happy to send another check

Mike D.

I'm sure we could get a round trip ticket for Mike R. but he detests commercial flying. Maybe he'll jump in and comment here.

Glad it went well for you Mike! I'm sorry that you have to go back for more "fun" but it sounds like you are getting excellent care. I'll pray hard for your "good" side to grow while the "bad side" shrinks!!

Terrible about your GPS... Can't believe somone would do that.

What do you think guys? Mike needs a new GPS and a car window repair (or at least an insurance deductible).....

My contribution is in the mail!

I believe it was a question of a round trip in the Barron. But it doesn't have to be a Barron. Maybe someone else would "volunteer" to fly Mike and Paula to HOU and maybe another will "volunteer" to fly them back. If I was remotely close by, I'd do it. If it streaches out to next payday, I'll send another check.

I will be out of town from 2/12 - 2/22/09; but if you need to fly to or from Houston, I will volunteer to carry you and Paula.

Hi everyone! We are glad things are still on positive note for Mike!! Our check is in the mail for him to use in anyway he needs it. Good Luck in your endeavors and our prayers are with you! Dave & Lorrie

Payment complete from the land downunder. Now lets hope Mike grows a bigger Liver lobe so he can get the manky bit taken out!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, Mike and Paula, I hope that you are doing well? you are in my prayers.
I will be glad to help in anyway that I can.

Good luck, Trae McElwaney

Any update on this? Did we pull in the "required funds"? I sent a check - happy to send more if Mike and Paula need it. I'd venture that Mike has saved all of us Thousands - has for me - even over a short two years.

Gosh, folks, this is getting embarrassing. I feel like one of the guys holding up the cardboard sign at the expressway exit.

I don't yet have a definite date for a return to MDA, for the (hopefully) final surgery schedule. With all the offered help with ferrying, I have been contemplating different possibilities. For example, flying down in the Sierra (if I feel up to it then), and seeing whether we can work out a pilot relay to get us and the Sierra back to Laurens. We would have to stop at least once anyway, as it is 731 NM to Houston KIAH (though that's not the field we'd use, I'm sure). This would mean renting a car, so we'd have to use a field with Enterprise (or similar) access. Preferably in the NE quadrant of Houston.

This would probably mean a couple of 3-hour legs each way in the Sierra. That doesn't sound too bad, versus sixteen hours of driving time (and two days on the road). We could fly shorter legs coming back, if that was more convenient for the folks flying PIC for us. This would also keep Harold from having to make the complete round trip in his Baron (despite his generous offer to do so); and the total air time difference is probably well under two hours. Of course, the fuel cost difference would be pretty dramatic. I'd guess about 240-250 gallons for the Baron, versus 120 for the Sierra; both are round-trip numbers.

So, I am open to suggestions on the choice of fields NE to E of Houston, for the Sierra. Not sure we'll be able to fly rather than drive, but might as well explore it if there's a chance of someone helping us fly the home-bound legs.

Mike,
If I were there I'd gladly participate in the relay....
As you know my Duchess is dying to get some quality flight time right now. If you find some willing Pilots I'd be glad to donate the Duchess for the round trip...just say the word....

Rick

I'm going to be Laurens the end of this month. If timing works out maybe I can fly with Mike to Houston and visit friends for a day. You might have to put the back seats in of course! I can fly back commercial flight and leave Sunny for the return leg. Or, I can fly commercial to Houston perhaps for the ride back instead. If you would rather we could use my plane. These days I have some help at work I can draw upon with a few days notice.
This might be more efficient than a pilot relay in stages.
