OshKosh 2009

Around The Moon
This was my first Oshkosh event and also my first "Last/BAC Picnic!" I have to say both shows were pretty spectacular.

The scale of things at Oshkosh is amazing. We've probably all been to fly-ins and airshows and other similar events but the sheer size and amount at Oshkosh is astounding. It is well run and everything seems to work smoothly.

Debbie and Larry Last provided another fantastic event at their lovely home this year. The venue they offer, right on the flight line, is just perfect and the great hospitality makes the whole thing something pretty special and unique. Thank you Debbie and Larry (and all your helpers!)

And what a great job by east central regional director Bob Schmidt. The organization and prep work really showed as the members had plenty to eat, smooth transportation and an all-around wonderful time. Well done, Bob and thanks for a great event.

I think we had 28 BAC members show up at Debbie and Larry's Picnic. It was terrific to meet members that I have not had the pleasure of meeting before and, as always, really fun to see familiar faces! This picnic is really starting to become a tradition and as long as Debbie and Larry will offer the opportunity we should take advantage to meet and enjoy the great BAC spirit and camaraderie.

Unfortunately, I head home tomorrow. But, I plan to attend again next year and hope even more BAC members will join us.

Thanks again for all the effort Debbie & Larry and Bob & Jennifer!

All for one!

To be honest, it 'twas the high point of my Oshkosh adventure last year. The Lasts are fine and accommodating people. My everlasting appreciation is extended to them for what they do and how they do it. Hope to be there again to enjoy what they offer to our club members.

One for all!

I gotta give Larry and Debbie all the credit for the food and logistics at the Picnic. They did a fantastic job!

We handled all the 'back office' stuff (web site, attendee list, registration checks, etc) and they handled the picnic itself.

We make a pretty good team, if I do say so myself!

Same time and place next year???

I'll post some pictures, but please feel free to upload more if you have them.

If anyone has 'magazine-worthy' pictures, send them to me at [email protected] for consideration for BAC Talk.

Great picnic

This was an AWESOME picnic - we are so fortunate to have the chance to sit comfortably with friends in the perfect spot, eating good food and drinking great stuff (!) while watching the best airshow in the world.

Jessica & I really enjoyed it, and we will be back next year! Thanks so much to Deb & Larry for hosting - you guys did an absolutely 1st class job. Those Bonanza guys may have had a tent at the show, but the BACnic was way more fun!

For anyone that is considering going next year - go for it! This single event is worth the price of a years BAC dues!

BAC=the best value in all of aviation!

BAC still congregating at Oshgosh? If so, where at? My parents are there and would love to come by and say hello.

Thanks,

Jon

Nothing official going on any more. I'm probably going up on Saturday, so if anyone is interested in getting together, call me at 414-397-8215 and we'll see if we can all meet, say around 2:00 PM.

We had a BACnic - why didn't I think of that!!!

Some 'official' results -

We had 27 members and 40 guests at the picnic with only two BAC member no-shows!

I'll be putting out a poll soon to get some feedback for next year's event, so please respond, call or email me with comments.
