Last BAC Picnic on the Flightline at AirVenture July 28th

Yes, Mr. Bob I am coming on United Airlines. With the economy lagging I feel it is my Patriotic duty to use the system. (Yep, my plane won't be ready for the trip.) ha ha
 
Pre-registration ends July 18th! If you can't get me a check by then, put a post on this thread to let me know you are coming.

We'll have a sign at the gate with the number to call for the shuttle. Remember the BLUE tram takes you to the gate at the far south end of AirVenture. I'm posting a 2008 amp of the location, since nothing has changed. You can print it by right clicking on the image, clicking view image and then printing it. If that doesn't work, post your email address here and I'll send you a copy via email.

Ron & Brad Powell will be there this year! I was at Air Venture last year , and was mixed up on the day, you might say "A DAY LATE & $20 SHORT" I think it will be a great time,and place to watch air show. Thanks to everyone that is makeing it happen! Looking forward to meeting every one and having a good time talking aircraft. THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL Ive heard that before. Gene Nora Jessen and her husband, Bob, will be joining us at the picnic! She will be in Oshkosh presenting her new book "The fabulous Flight of the Three Musketeers" at the museum and doing a book signing at the authors corner on Monday. She'll be bringing a copy of her book for us to browse at the picnic.

Flying Magazine's Dick Karl will meet with BAC members at AirVenture on Monday July 27th!

BAC member Bob Lewis has been in contact with Dick Karl (Dick's first airplane was a Musketeer) and he has agreed to meet with us on Monday. The time and place still need to be worked out, so stay tuned!

Dick's column, Gear Up, appears monthly in Flying Magazine.
 
Here's the plan for Monday:

We'll meet at the Flying Magazine tent Monday at 3:00 PM to meet with Dick Karl, then mosey over to the EAA museum by 4:30 to listen to Gene Nora Jessen.

After that, who knows!

I finally have time to sort out who all attended the Last BAC Picnic this year. We had 27 BAC members and 40 guests at the picnic show up this year, and only two BAC no-shows! That's a record that we hope to break next year!

I have a few checks yet to reconcile for those I missed at the picnic. I do have the PT points figured out and will send them to our prez in the next day or so.

I'm still looking for some good pictures of the picnic, and especially of our meeting with Dick Karl on Monday. I have some pics of the picnic, but none of the Dick Karl meeting.
