Who allows a reporter to report "plane appears to have hit a snowbank on the runway." If they don't know they shouldn't say what might be.

Glad pilot and passenger are ok, ouch for plane.

You're lucky they didn't call it a Piper Cub...anything smaller than a 747 is automatically a Cub.
But the real problem is that bothe Editors and Copy-Editors are extinct. I've walked off camera during an interview because the child reporter couldn't put three words together in coherent fashion.
